I found an ad on CraigsList for facepainting artists for events. I spoke with Tracy Ortiz, the owner, on the phone and via text. I booked 1 artist for 2 days for an event I planned for my company. I was sent an invoice via email that I paid with a credit card in advance. I was also sent a reservation confirmation email signed by Romeo Lopez.
The artist never showed up to the event. I called Tracy to report the no show the first day and only received a text reply saying sorry, I would be refunded. Since then, after numerous calls, voicemails, texts and emails, there has been no replies.
Their facebook page has also been removed since. Searching the business address, which is a residence, it looks like it is linked to a registered sex offender. Appears to be a con-artist ripping would be customers off, collecting payment and not performing a service.
