fired me with no probable cause. A customer called complaining to corporate before coming in to eat with a party of 15 acting irate and irrational due to the fact we did not have his flower delivery that he ordered and said had sent to our stores location. We asked him to call the flower company that he purchased from to track the location of said “flowers” but he got more mad at the customer service that we provided trying to help him locate the flower delivery. He was very disrespectful to every employee on duty. He said “If y’all can’t find my flowers we’re about to have a real big f*****g problem.” That is when I stepped in and reminded him that we are here to help him and he needs to be respectful to the female staff assisting him at this time and that there’s children around. Then Chili’s Corporate received a call from me requesting more information on my termination and refused to tell me why I had been terminated. Every call I made to them, even when speaking to a different employee every time all said the same thing “We are in line as a corporation with the termination and can provide no further information at this time.”When I requested my employee file to get my lawyer involved they also refused to grant me that. Chili’s continued to withhold my file and said I needed a subpoena for them to email me the file. After my initial call requesting information upon being fired they then called me weeks later AFTER I was fired after asking for my witnesses yet Chillis Corporation refused to called any of them nor asked my side of the story before firing me, I had to contact them first for them to even hear my side of things. There are no cameras in this facility or anything to ensure employee protection. I did my best to help this customer and de-escalate the situation and he continued to cuss and threatened my life in our family environment restaurant walking around following me  and tried to fight me and followed me around while I was waiting on my tables trying to ensure a positive guest experience. He continued to disrupt every party eating there at that time and everyone was very confused why he was not made to leave. The manager on duty chose not to remove that man from the store nor have my back on the situation. This is wrong beyond measure and i’m seeking help.

They don't need "probable cause"

If everything went like you described, it is unfortunate.  However, they do not need any cause to terminate you.  You are an at-will employee, they can let you go whenever they want and for whatever reason they feel like.  I think the only relevant question at this point is whether you are eligible for unemployment.
