In October 2019, I took my 2017 A4 Audi Allroad to Dan Fast to install a exhaust system, which I supplied myself. This is a system that is designed for my vehicle. Dan Fast had me drop the car off in the morning and said it would take all day to finish. During the day, I called twice (I believe) to inquire about the status of the job. Not only did no one know anything about my car, they didn't even know who was supposed to install the exhaust.

At the latest possible time for me to pick it up (around 3:30, I think), I was called and told the car was ready. I made it to Dan Fast just before closing and paid for the job and took my car. About a mile down the road, the car started making a grinding noise from the rear. I was late for an important appointment and could not return to Dan Fast, in addition to the fact that they were already closing for the day. The noise was intermittent but occurred fairly often.

I had a independent mechanic acquaintance drive the vehicle with a preliminary diagnosis of exhaust issues. He put it up on his shop's rack and we could see what Dan Fast had done. Not only had they not properly aligned the rubber hangers, allowing the driveshaft on my car to rub against one of the mufflers and gouge a dent in it, but they also added a unauthorized and not required modification to my pipes, welding the two exist pipes together. My mechanic friend told me to go to a different shop and have it fixed. In his opinion, the exhaust install, which wasn't a difficult job, had been sloppily done.

I had Ballard Muffler in Seattle WA fix the Dan Fast install. The owner was outraged at the sloppy install job Dan Fast had done. Slightly later, I went to Dan Fast and asked for a refund. Not only were the employees completely indifferent to their screwup, they refused to do anything, claiming I should have given them the chance to fix the screwup that should not have occurred anyway. The owner, on the phone, was rude, belligerent, and hung up on me.
