Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

According to Pinch a Penny’s (“PAP”) website, “Pinch A Penny's direction is quite simple. We strive to be unrivaled in providing value, quality, and service to our customers.”   NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH IN MY EXPERIENCE which was:

THEY HAVE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and  A STORE POLICY THAT ABSOLVES THEM OF LIABILITY FOR DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE CONTAINERS THEY SELL.

I have patronized their Boynton Beach store on Military Rd., for 6 years.   I purchased 3 large liquid chlorine containers (jugs) and have refilled them regularly over the years.  They have SWAPPED these jugs several times, rather than refilling the ones I purchased, About 2-3 months ago, my wife purchased new chemicals.  On the way home, one of the refilled chlorine filled jugs (not the one we took in) leaked in her car. Fortunately she had a rubber mat in her trunk.  It leaked in the garage and then I put it outside on a piece of glass until I could use it.

I went back to PAP today 1/23/21, to purchase more chemicals and told the sales man ("Kervin") what happened.  He said the store policy was "were not responsible for the jugs."  I asked to speak to the manager.  I told him they were PAP jugs, that were swapped not refilled the last visit.  Kervin said he knew what the manager would say.  Kervin tested my water sample and printed out a list of chemicals I needed.  He asked for my name and number but somehow after 6 years, I was not in their computer system any longer.  Again, evidencing their terrible service. He asked me if this was my 1st visit and I told him that I have been coming there for 6 years.  He asked me If I wanted him to fill the order of new chemicals (Ph-, stabilizer, alkalinity + salinity stain, chlorine, etc).  I said yes, but I wanted a different chlorine jug, because I was not going to fill their leaking jug and go through the trouble again.

He said he couldn't swap out the jug.  I said but you did it last time, and he argued and said “I didn’t do it.” I told him to call the manager.  He called a guy named "LEO."  Leo was a total JERK!  He insisted that they don't swap out jugs, but that was a lie!  I said, I was expecting an apology for going through this and he said he didn't know why I deserved one, didn't seem to care that his store almost caused me a lot of liquid chlorine damage.  I said that If that was his attitude, I would take my business elsewhere.  He said "fine, take your business elsewhere."  SO I AM GLADLY TAKING MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE AND LETTING EVERYONE IN MY AREA KNOW ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE THAT PINCH A PENNY EXHIBITED A COMPLETE AND TOTAL LACK OF CARE OR CONCERN FOR A LONG TIME PATRON.   I

don't know how anyone can expect to stay in business with this mentality.   Not only were they insolent, they were stupid.  I was about to spend about $150.00 this visit alone.  They forget that my money spends anywhere and they are not the only game in town.   Hopefully this review will help someone else avoid the problems and trouble I have experienced.  Let it be known that imho PINCH A PENNY SUCKS and its needs to change its direction statement to “We strive to be unrivaled in providing the WORST, value, quality, and service to our customers.

F- so I RECOMMEND GOING ELSEWHERE FOR POOL SUPPLIES!
