Complaint Review: Solar City Tesla - Los Angeles California

I was told that using solar would save me between 70-80% on my electric bill, that turned out to be a lie. I am paying $192.00 a month for electric, and another $282.94 a month for solar and that is way more than I was paying for my electric bill a month before I had solar installed. Now I find out that I'm locked into a 20 year contract and that I will have to hire an attorney in order to go to arbitration to get out of the contract, witch I cannot afford. I hope by telling my story that people will not get suckered into using Solar City Tesla for their energy source. I thought it was a way to help the planet as well as helping to keep down my electric bill. Solar City did not give me much time to fact check before signing with them, I hope there are attorneys out there who can and will find away to bring a class action against Solar City, Tesla. My solar bill is twice as high as my electric bill was.

This summer was hot and very humid, and I did not run my air conditioner once, nor did I use my oven for cooking all summer, I used my clothes dryer at night rather than during the day, so I do not see why this company is charging me so much for solar. I'm 77 years old, I wake up crying every morning about the mistake I made going with this company, I,m on a fixed income with a sick husband and medical bills, I can't afford to continue paying this high solar bill. My complaint is the same as the one above. Solar is something that my late husband wanted and he insisted that sign the agreement along with him for Solar City Panels. At the time we had his pension , Social Security, and my Social Security, and my husband was paying for the use of Solar. After my husband became ill we noticed that there was rain water coming in out kitchen and bathroom. So we went to our Township to see if we qualiried for home improvement. The Township told us that we did Qualifiy but we were on a long list.

My husband passed away and his pension and Social Security left with him, so now I only have my Social Security to live on. Solar City told us that using solar would reduce my electric bill, it did not, we were told that all of the energy that we did not use would go back into the grid and peco would give us credit or send us a check at the end of pecos fisccal year, that never happened. We were told that by useing solar that we could get a tax credit, that never happened. Mean while I became ill with breast cancer for the second time and had to have surgery, to make matters worse I also have heart failure. The money that Solar City is charging me for the sun is more than I can afford to pay. My bill for August 2023, was $321.19, My bill for September 2023 was $290.62, and the bill that I just received to pay in November is for $523.85, I have not missed a payment and I really do not know how they are billing me. My air condition this summer did not work and I ate soup and sandwiches all summer. Getting back to my roof, the Township contractors are waiting to install my roof, and I'm waiting for Solar City to remove the panels off of my roof. I called and spoke to them with no satisfaction. I want the panels removed and I do not want them replaced. I no longer want to do business with this company, I just want my roof repaired so the rain will stop coming into my house. I can no longer afford to pay them.

I called Solar City and asked them to please remove the panels so that the roofers can repair my roof.   They are a company that I no longer can afford to do business with.  Since the death of my husband, I have been living on my Social Security.  I'm 82 years old, and dealing with breast cancer for the second time, and to make matters worse, I also have heart failure. 

 They lied and told us that solar would reduce our electric bill, but that did not happen, they told us that the energy that we did not use would go back into the grid and PECO would give us a credit or a check at the end of Peco's fiscal year, they also said we would get a tax credit for using solar, that did not happen.  We were never told that Solar City was going to merge with Tesla, I found out when I went to pay the bill online and the name Tesla Car page popped up.  I read what was there and found out that Solar City was now Tesla.  I have tried to keep up paying Peco and Tesla but it is becoming very hard with my rides and doctor appointments. 

I make $1,079 a month, This is how Tesla charged me,  In August 2023, $321.29, in September 2023, $290.62, in October 2023, $233.23,  and this month for the month of November 2023, they sent me a bill for $523.85 I never missed a payment and I'm so confused as to how they calculate my usage.  They want me to do auto payment so that they can take the money out of my bank.  There are times there is no money in my account so I borrow the money to pay them, or I will go without groceries.   I need help getting rid of Solar City Tesla They are big SCAMMERS. 

I hope people will read some of these complaints before doing business with Solar City Tesla.   Are there Lawyers out there who are strong enough to take on these Solar City/Teslar Scammers?
