I have been banking with 1st National Bank also known as 1st Convenience bank for a very long time. I have noticed since the bank has transitioned more towards 1st Convenience Bank alot of problems have developed. The most recent and most unorthodoxed, was when I had 4 pending transactions. According to my records all transactions would have cleared, however I was charged a monthly $1.50 account fee and then my account became $1.11 short from everything clearing. So the bank decided to charge me the $34.95 overdraft fee before anything cleared which then caused all 4 remaining transactions to clear and cause 4 additional $34.95 overdraft fees. I have never heard of such nonsense. And when I called into customer service I was simply told you did not have enough funds, but yet there were enough funds to cover all the overdraft fees. And if the banking system stopped and posted transactions on the days they occurred this would not be an issue. I guess I should have learned my lesson when the savings account that I once had opened all of a sudden started incurring monthly fees for being under the minimum, though on numerous accounts I was told there was not a minimum since I had direct deposit. I'm not sure if the banking president has changed or something, but things are not what they use to be with this bank and they really need to be investigated. If an account is FREE how come there is a monthly $1.50 charge to my account, especially since I have direct deposit. Then how is it right to charge a NSF of $2.00 daily? None of this makes sense and yes I will be changing banks and telling everyone I know not to bank with this bank and if you do make sure you always keep a $100 in your account, because they have a tendancy to post and unpost transactions to cause unnecessary fees.
