Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Our family of 5 started going to 6-Day in 2008. In June 2008 my then 8-year-old daughter had her cleaning. In July 2008 my HUSBAND had his cleaning. They incorrectly coded this (ie, having my husband billed as a female with fluoride treatment and a pediatric exam?) causing us NOTHING but dental insurance coverage issues throughout the year and culminating in 6-Day overcharging automatically us by approximately $600 which we only discovered because of online banking--we were never informed.  They make you sign something that says "any charge over $100 can be billed automatically" since this was more--they just broke it up into several fees (all hitting the bank at the same nigh). This has still not been fixed and it is February 17, 2010.

We did not catch the mistake until AFTER my daughter started in orthodontics there, and my husband and myself have been fighting with them ever since. They NEVER return calls.

My daughter started braces at that time. The promotion was "full braces, get an ipod." I was told "she probably does not need full braces, but we will not know until she does these primary ones." I said "but if she does, will she get the ipod" and was assured she would. Lo and behold, she DID need the full set of braces and the woman, who did remember telling me that, refused to honor that request.

In December 2009 I was told we owed $28 and the braces would be paid off. Chasity stated there would be no further debits...um Chasity I have TWO $167 debits and I have called EVERY DAY since mid-January 2010 (it is now February 17, 2010) to ask why...no calls have been returned regarding this--ONLY CALLS to get us in for more appointments (other than my daughter I will not let my children, husband or self be seen there anymore PERIOD). I was told by someone else in ortho "oh your insurance overpaid and well we do not know what to do." After 20 years experience as they state processing claims correctly that is pathetic.

Meanwhile during this time we had a huge loss of income (47%) and I had to CONSTANTLY tell these people "DO NOT try to sell me on teeth bleaching" (apparently they must work on commission) because EVERY SINGLE TIME they would try to convince me and my husband we needed it.  They also have tried to convince us our now 18-year-old son needed braces. He has seen FIVE ORTHODONTISTS in his lifetime and ALL of them (except for the one here) insisted he did not need braces at all. Later we were told by another orthodontist my daughter didn't need "primary" and "secondary" braces, that he recommends cost wise just going with the secondary and that places like "those mass market chains" bilk customers that way.  Yep it worked on me LOL.

Also originally I was also told at the start of orthodontic treatment that "we are in Allen, Texas, every Friday" which is NOT true. This was important because as a working parent I can't drive 60-90 minutes for an appointment.  There are a LOT of other PROFESSIONAL orthodontists and dental offices in Allen.  Had I known this was NOT the case originally I would have just stuck with a smaller more intimate practice.  I have seen I think 5 different orthodontists at 6 Day at this point with my daughter and I have to wonder why that is....  The dentists change rarely.

Finally I do not use a cell phone. I have one for EMERGENCIES but it is not used. I stupidly filled out the information for "cell phone" and they call it continuously. I have asked time after time for them to plase use my landline, being assured that they would. I had on TWO OCCASIONS have the receptionist tell me "I did call your landline to cancel the appointment" and when I asked her what number, from the prefix it was the cell phone AND I SHOWED HER THE CELL PHONE in my hand to verify it. So in December 2008 I informed them that we no longer have that cell phone number--and do you know they are still calling it to this day! Unbelievable that their hold music indicates professionalism, ability to process claims correctly, and courteous staff because I have found NONE of that to be true. You may be impressed by Molar Man and their video games--but at what cost?

Dawn, from the orthodontics' side of 6 Day, patiently went through our billing situation with me and has a solution that is definitely to my satisfaction.  My refund *should be* (it's a Friday and I can understand if it is not available on a Monday) available to me at the Allen office where my daughter has her orthodontic appointment on this upcoming Monday.

She explained that the insurance did overpay for the phase 1/primary set of braces and generally that is carried over into the phase 2/secondary set; unfortunately, it was not done in this case.  It is now done and the amount overpaid (from being billed) should be refunded like I stated above.

She also addressed my concerns about having new orthdontists and assured me the newest one (whom we have seen 2-3 times) should be here for awhile.  She says he is very cutting edge and plans on staying here, a lot of them do move on or move to other parts of the country; but, this one plans on being here.

She also removed my charge card and my old cell phone numbers from their files permanently and plans on talking to the dental side to see if anything can be done there.

I found her to be pleasant, thorough and knowledgable and I am glad to have her personal line at work if I ever have a need in the future.
