This report has NOTHING to do with Alltel, but with the company that runs Predictomobile. What you are describing is a premium text SMS Service (PSMS for short). There are many ways you can subscribe to them. You mentioned you never sent them a text or emailed them. Well guess what - that isn't required to start these services, although they can also be started this way. There are thousands of these companies out there, spanning ALL wireless carriers, and believe it or not millions of subscribers do want the services. A large number of people who get them and don't want them don't remember how they signed up, but they DID. These are double opt in systems; you show interest and respond to their reply. If not, you aren't signed up and billed. Do a google search on PSMS and look up attempts at people trying to sue them - the PSMS providers always win as they always show records of how the subscriber signed up. Frankly you should be ashamed. You signed up without remembering how you did so, and now you want to weasel out of the service that was provided. You found somebody who bowed to your pressure. I bet you are so proud of yourself for finding a way out a valid charge. Next time, by the way, submit the report against the company you have a complaint against. This charge had nothing to do with you wireless phone provider and everything to do with your own ignorance.
