Just like others that have experience deceptive selling practices that complaint here. I ordered a Canon Digital camera SD1100IS since they were the lowest price on the internet for $159. Then I get a confirmed email that order was place. Then I get a message that I need to call in to "confirm" my order. Sales rep then tries to sell me an overpriced $99 3 hour battery since the one that came with the camera "only last 20 minutes". He says because I'm on the phone with him right now, he would sell me the battery for only $69. I decline. He then told me the order should be ship in about 2 weeks. Then he hang up the phone. I then check my email and sure enough, I get a message that the item is back-ordered for 3-4 weeks and I can cancel my order if I want to.

I called them again and they told me they had in stock. I check the website for the item and it says "Availabilty: usually ships in 1 or 2 business days". Now the price is listed at $219.

I tried to file a complaint with the BBB of New York and their business is not listed. I'm sure I won't ever see the order.

Here's the email message I received:

I'm surprised that they didn't...

Try to sell you a lens cap for $100. What these places do is buy a camera outfit and piece it out so that you pay a vastly inflated price. My best advice is to fight for a refund. Even if you managed to get a camera from them, it could very well be a grey market camera and Canon USA may not honor the warranty. B&H and Adorama are my favorite camera sellers in New York.
