99Designs.com should rebrand themselves as 993rdworld5yearolds because that's the quality of their work these days. They asked for $700 for business card design. I agreed to this because I expected to get top notch talented designers and hoped for a wide variety of ideas for my business cards.
Instead I was given rehashed ideas that are FAR WORSE than what you'd find as stock options on vistaprint or some of the other online printing services.
$700- for the design- this doesn't even include the cost of printing and shipping the cards mind you.
They offer a no questions asked money back guarantee, so when I realized I was wasting my time with them, I asked to cancel the contest and refund my $700 via online chat. But rather than politely agreeing to refund my money, which is what a good customer service agent should do, they instisted I call so they can "ask me why I want to cancel."
1) If you offer no quesitons asked 100% satisfaction money back guarantee, then you should force your customers to answer questions (an optional online survey would be fine.)
2) There is absolutely no reason why I should have to call. I should be able to cancel contest at any time I choose and my money should be refunded.
After haggling with the chat rep for a few minutes and threatening to chargeback twice, she finally refunded me. I shouldn't have to argue to get a refund. This is poor customer service and such a complete scam.
Avoid #99crappydesigns like the plague- save your money and you time and do business elsewhere.
