Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

After denying my claim, they told me I'd get a refund in NINETY days (3 months???) but they didn't send it to me until 4 1/2 months later and only after a fight with the customer service guy who was extremely rude and hung up on me twice! THEN, I figured out that they STOLE from the refund by more than $300.

I guess I'm not the only one because AA Auto Protection is being sued by the Attorney General of Pennsylvania (see below)! EVERYONE in the same boat with them should contact the that office and let them know what kind of company this is! Crooks need to be put out of business!

Lawsuit against Internet company based in Bucks County

The Bureau of Consumer Protection’s Philadelphia office filed a lawsuit in the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas against an Internet company based in Trevose that allegedly failed to offer refunds to consumers who properly cancelled their automobile warranties.

The lawsuit seeks a wide range of relief against Ivy League International, Ltd. and Guardian Web Company, LLC, which operated under the names AA Auto Protection and AA Auto Warranty. Their officers, Daniel J. Rorapaugh and Brett E. Hitchcock, were also named as defendants in the lawsuit, which seeks restitution for consumers, civil penalties and a permanent injunction to stop the alleged violations of the law.

The Bureau of Consumer Protection alleges the defendants failed to honor their cancellation policy when they failed to offer refunds to eligible consumers. Moreover, the lawsuit alleges the defendants sold warranties administered by Administration Plus USA, which went out of business.

The lawsuit further alleges the defendants also advertised themselves as being Gold Certified Members of the Vehicle Protection Association when in fact they were not.

The lawsuit was filed by Senior Deputy Attorney General Sarah Frasch.

I would like to start off by saying that at AA Auto Protection we take Customer Service very seriously.  AA Auto Protection has never shorted anyones refund purposely.  If this customer feels that his refund is less than it is supposed to be based on the terms of his contract he should contact us immediately.  We have researched this incident to the best of our ability based on the information provided and have come up with nothing.  This is using the name Thomas A. from Texas.  If the customer could provide some further information pertaining to his name or contract number we would love to assist him further.  We are not showing any contract cancellations in the last 6 months with this name.  If the customer does not feel comfortable posting his information here he can certainly contact Brett Hitchcock directly at support@aaautoprotection or contact us by phone at 888-222-4445 x165.

The Pennsylvania Attorney Generals office is attempting to sue AA Auto Protection for not issuing refunds to customers.  The issue is that AA Auto Protection is not the company that owed these customers refunds in the first place.  The Attorney General is attempting to get AA Auto Protection to issue refunds for another company that is no longer in business.  The accusations are frivolous at best and AA Auto Protection will clear its name during the legal process.

"The lawsuit further alleges the defendants also advertised themselves as being Gold Certified Members of the Vehicle Protection Association when in fact they were not."  In fact the AG's office found a logo on a web page on the website that no traffic went to... AA Auto Protection was in fact Gold Certified Members of the Vehicle Protection Association for many years.  When we discontinued paying for a Gold Membership over 100 pages of our website were altered in order to remove this logo.  The Attorney General’s office was able to find one page on a website of hundreds that we missed.  In no way were we attempting to mislead the public.  This webpage had not been seen by a single customer due to its obscure location.

AA Auto Protection has been accused of doing something that it is completely innocent of.  We will prove this through any legal channel necessary.
