AAA Appliance Repair Service  was called to repair ignition on my gas range, and to stop a water leak coming from the freezer section of my frig.  Appointment was for Thursday June 20, 5 PM - 7PM.  Mr. Ibrahim, the owner, showed up at 9:30 PM. 

To start, he was not clear on the charges, only that labor would be $216. plus parts, if needed.  I had an ad that had coupons for 15% off any completed repair for a senior (I am in my 70s) or $30 off any completed repair.  For the range, I was sure he said the part was $72.  When he made out the bill I was shocked that this small part was $269.97.

To stop the leak coming from my freezer, he shut everything off so that the plugged water outlet would defrost and the water would go down the outlet instead of out on my kitchen floor.  He also vacuumed the accumulated dust from the back, and said that everything was hooked up and on.

He was in my home for a total of 1 1/2 hours.  Imagine my shock when he put another $216 for labor.  The total, including tax came to $751.00  He gave me a receipt that he had to write in the name of the company and phone number.  No address.  But that is not the end!  He refused to honor any of the coupons, saying that he was already giving me a discount!

Saturday AM I opened the door to my freezer, and everything is melted.  I turned on a dial in my frig and the freezer went on.  The icemaker is not working, so he had to have turned off the water in the back.  I cannot pull the frig out from the wall to do it myself.  So no ice cubes.

I called his office and the woman who answered refused to take a message, called again, same thing - except I berated the woman, and asked what kind of person would not take a message!  Mr Ibrahim finally called - that's when I discovered he is the owner.  I told him what had happened, and that I was angry and upset.  He called me a liar, and said something else must be wrong!  Sure - another $216.?  No way - his incompetance led to a freezer full of spoiled food.  He insisted I was lying. Freezer is working fine now.  No trouble with the icemaker before, but now? nothing!

He has a BBB logo in his ad, but it turns out he is unknown to them! What?  His ad says he is "Fully Insured".  If so, would not he refer me to his insurance company?

He obviously knew that he was cheating me.  He wrote on the receipt "owner was told our price in full before work was done".  Not true.  I signed the receipt BEFORE HE WROTE THAT!

WHAT A RIP-OFF!!!!
