Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Scott Smith is a liar when he says he warrantied the prior owner's work. What he does or you have to do is contact AAMCO Head Quarters in Horsham, PA and tell them the previous AAMCO store went out of business and you need work done on your car as per your warranty. That is the only way he will honor the previous owners warranty so he can get paid. He did not do this for me. In fact, he told me he when he took over the business, he has in his contact he does not assume any liability from the previous owner. Fine, but, don't keep the previous owner's staff who screwed up my car. Four months before Scott Smith took over AAMCO, I brought my car to that same location and the same mechanics that Scott retained when he took over Jaimie and Ed Gold, miss diagnosed my car problem. They screwed up my car's transmission, the PCM, the electrical system pinching and crossing wires to the fuse box that coast me $2,300.16. For six months I kept having the same transmission error codes that were electrical, putting my care in limp or safety mold, costing me more money because, I tried to get other AAMCO stores to work on my car and they refused. Do not get your car worked on by AAMCO. Do a search on AAMCO and you will see they are the worse car repair company in the country. I went to five AAMCO stores in three states and they won't honor warranty repairs if it is a transmission electric problem or it is inside the transmission. Two, AAMCO won't work on your car if you had a problem with the original store and if you try to get warranty work done at another location, they have to call the store who did the work and they will try to get out of paying for repairs so the warranty is useless. This is what I went through. To get my car worked on, I had to sign a release with AAMCO corporate that I don't make a claim against them or College Station AAMCO. There is nothing I could do since the previous owner went bankrupt and I had to take what I could get at the time. Scott Smith operates in the same building paying a franchise fee using the AAMCO name and he kept the previous owner's mechanics who ruin my car, therefore, he is responsible. Had he not retain the same mechanics, I would not be writing this review and warn residents in Bryan College Station to look elsewhere

Scott still uses other forums to make personal attacks on me for stating the truth. Accusing me of extortion because, there was nothing in the relase that I could not warn consumers online how I was ripped off and demanded payment for the orginal damages to my car regardless of past work that was done with coroparte.  He is so upset about my review, he is paying people $10 to write a positive rewiew on him and his shop.

Not a Scam. Your mechicanics worked on my car under previous owners in the shop you bought and you would not honor the warranty

Yes, I was not a customer when you open up, but, the work was done physically at your shop by your mechanics you retain from the previous owner and they are the one's who worked on and ruin my car before you took over and you would not honor my warranty.

Yes I did go to the better business bureau to file a complaint. Kay at the BBB first thought I might have a claim since it was in the same building with the sign with the same mechanics are working for you that is on my receipt. I told you this and you said to go a head a make a complaint I cannot stop you.  Kay research it and said I had no claim because, even through the mechanics did the work, the work was done while employed by the previous owner who went bankrupt.  That is why I had no claim. I don't see it that way.  It is like a guilty defendant getting off on a technicality.  You told me you don't assume any liability work done from the previous owner when you signed your contract to take over the business so you would not honor my warrantee to have work done in another state.  Again, you use a technicality written in your contract.

I never made a threat I would write a negative review, I promise I would if I did not get a full refund. It was your choice and you forced my hand.  You made calls to AAMCO well so did I weeks before I spoke to you and afterwards. When I was not going to get a full refund of $2,300.16, from the owners who filed bankruptcy or from AAMCO corporate franchise center who used the same excuse the owners went out of business,  I had to take what I can get to have the electric problem repaired and that agreement was with the corporate office who paid for the repairs not you.  I had someone else do the work because, the AAMCO's where I was living would not do electrical work.

The bottom line is you retain employees who ruin my car. The Spanish employee did try to speak to me in English and needed a co worker to translate. Had I got a full refund, the issue would been settled.  Do a search on the internet on AAMCO and you will see how many complaints there are against AAMCO stores across the country and people at the franchise office in Pennsylvania.  AAMCO have the worse reputation in the country for transmission shops.  What you don't understand is the internet makes business honest, accountable and to provide excellent service and work.  And if a business does not provide that and consumers are screwed over, they take to the internet and warn people.  You stray from the issue and make a personal attack on me for exercising my right to post negative reviews about other business who provided bad service that have nothing to do with you.  If you want to set the record straight, there is an arbitration on here for $2,000. That is less the cost what I was ripped off by your mechanics who ruin my transmission.

Never a Customer - Posting is just a scam

#4REBUTTAL Owner of company

As there claimant has correctly indicated:

1.  The work performed for the customer was not done my shop.  It was done 4 months prior to opening of my shop.

2.  I purchased a closed/bankrupt business that serviced this person prior to my ownership.

3.  This person lived in Florida by the time I purchased the business and never stopped in the store for any warranty service.

4.  The individual making this claim is named Rob Schmidt.  Who goes around targeting businesses with anonymous negative postings.  See , plus.google.com/u/0/115659265639174279494/reviews?hl=en&gl=us

5.  AAMCO did honor the warranty and a legal discloser showing the customer accepted payment was provided to Rip Off Report.

6.  This person threatened threatened threatened with negative postings if I did not pay him.

7.  Rod went to the Better Business Bureau where we would have been glad to resolve the manner, but they agreed he had no claim.

8.  Rod is also mistaken on who worked on his car and uses only the names of individuals that talked with him.  The former transmission person only spoke Spanish and did not speak to Rod and is no longer employed at the shop.

I do honor all warranties that are valid by the prior shop, if they can bring me the vehicle to service.  I spent over 10 hours escalating and making calls on Rod's behalf to get his car repaired.

I have only positive feedback and have honored all other requests for warranty claims by the prior owner.
