I originally leased a beautiful, brand new TV through Aaron's about a year and a half ago.  About 6 months into having the TV, the screen was shattered by my boyfriend's child, by accident.  I immediately contacted Aaron's to find out how to utilize my warantee, however I was then told that my television was not covered.  This is not what they told me when I signed my lease agreement.

Instead of helping me out of my predicament, they talked me into leasing another television, and rolling that payment into the balance I owed from my broken set.  I am a single mom, and the additional expense got to be too much, so I had Aaron's come and pick up the new TV after only having it for a few months.

Since then, I have been trying to make the $60 payment every month for a broken TV that I haven't had in over a year.  Despite repeated requests to stop harassing me, they continually call me on my cell, at work, and they have even called my parents after being only a few days late.  Once they actually do succeed in getting me on the phone, they are rude and threatening.  Today was the last straw... I told the manager who called me that if I had a choice between getting groceries for my family, or paying for that stupid TV, I'm going to feed my family first.  At that point, the "manager" threatened legal action, and reminded me that I will still have to pay, no matter what.

In my opinion, their "legal team" getting involved over a less than $400 balance is preferable to the daily harassing calls from them.  I couldn't care less if they ever get that money- they lure you in with promises warrantees, quality products and "flexible" payments... but when it comes down to the wire, they are unwilling to help at all.  I'd rather have this affect my credit than deal with them anymore.  They are unprofessional, and beyond rude.  Don't ever sign a lease agreement with Aaron's... better yet, don't bother ever even stepping foot into one of their stores.  They suck!

If your Boyfriends child broke the TV why isn't your Boyfriend paying you for it?

As for them being "rude" and "threatning".  Are you saying if they were nice in asking you for the money you owe them that you would pay them?  Serioulsy...think about it.  You owe them money, not a pleasent task and them being rude or nice isn't going to change you making a payment to them.

Oh and by the way a "warranty" rarely covers accidents.  So unless the written warranty you have covers it you are responsible and unfortunatly the manager was right.  You will end up paying for it one way or another.   Where if they end up suing you, you could be responsible for additional court and legal fees that could double the amount you owe.
