IN March of 2005 I was in the market for a big screen tv and could not decide on which model to purchase so I decided to give Aarons rents in Daytona Beach a try. I signed a contract on a 51" Sony HD Big Screen. The tv was manufactured in February 2005. The day of delivery I did not receive any manuals or instructions. Just given the tv and remote control. I advised Aaron's that they could deduct my monthly payment from my debit card each month. Within a month I started receiving recorded phone calls stating that my paments were late and that I needed to get into the store to pay. Then within a few days later I would receive a call from the store asking when I would be in and pay and I would have to tell them that they have my debit card on file to charge the paymen to. Well early July my husband noticed a green bar about an inch in from the left side that started from the top and went down to the bottom. We called Aarons and they sent out a repair tech. He told us that the color guns were going bad and that since it was under repair that Sony would have to take care of it. Aarons then came to get the tv and told me it would be gone about three weeks. Well after 4 weeks I began calling the store on a weekly basis only to be told that they had just checked with service and it was not complete. Finally on week 9 I went into the store and began raising hell about the tv. The very next day the store manager called to tell me it was ready. They delivered it back the next day, minus the remote control that they took when they brought it to service and told us that the Sony tech said it just needed to be tuned. When I turned it on once they left I noticed the same green vertical bar as welll as a horizontal yellow bar now. I called Aarons back to report that the issue was not fixed and was told that Sony stated there was nothing wrong with the tv and that it had to be burn in from runnign the HD without stretching the screen to full capacity. I ensured the manager that the tv is always stretched as I cannot stand the gray bars on each side. HE stated that he could only go by what the tech was telling him. Okay the tv was gone for 9 weeks in which I was still paying Aarons in excess of $160 a month and here it is a month and a half since I have had the tv back and the problem is still not resolved. I have made numerous calls to the store manager only to be told that he would get back to me about it. I am at the point where I am ready to walk into the store tomorrow and go postal on someone.
