Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Bought a sofa at Aaron's rental. Was told by salesman that it was new. Expressed to salesman did not want used. told by salesman and manager that item to be delivered is new. I have several years experience in the furniture business so I know the differences in quality of furniture as well as how some companies will try to hide flaws and fixes.

When the sofa was delivered they quickly droped it off then left. With the delivery persons gone I began to inpsect the sofa. It took me less then 2 minutes to realize this sofa was not new. There were stains in some areas as well as spots that were re-sown and faded areas. Not even a good used condition. It was absolutely terrible.

I looked over the paperwork and it clearly showed this was to be a new sofa. When I called the store to have it returned they told me I purchased the used on and they had the tags. I informed them no my contract states new.

It took an official letter from a lawyer to get them to take the sofa back. At which point they tried to get me to exchange it for a different product. That really pissed me off and told them I would not buy from a company that intentially lies to their customers.

Sofa--New or Pre-leased?

My first question is did you go into the Aaron's store to see the sofa before it was purchased or was this sale done over the phone? If the sofa was purchased in the store as it should be--the flaws in the sofa should have been clearly evident before purchasing and the Aaron's associate should have pointed them out to you. That Aaron's store should not have tried to pass off pre-leased product as new--if that was their intention. I assure you that is not Aaron's policy--Aaron's prides itself on quality new merchandise and Aaron's wants you to own the merchandise. Yes--Aaron's does have pre-leased(used) merchandise, but it must meet certain standards to even be on the floor to sell. Enforcing these standards falls to the store manager--and when not done right, situations such as yours is the result. I do not work at the store you dealt with--but I can try to apologize for them and hope that Aaron's can still get your business in the future.
