I have been a customer with Aaron's since 1996 and have bought numerous items because I have no credit. The secret to a happy and successful contract is to follow it. Pay your payments when you agreed to on your signed contract and they won't even call you. In the last ten years I have been called one time and it was my fault for not paying on time. If you do not make a payment you are in fact just renting THEIR property. If you don't pay you are stealing it. Let the rep. pick it up and when you are financially better off go have them re deliver the property. It's not that hard. Pay your bills = you get to keep it and eventually own it OR don't pay and get bugged till you let them have their stuff or go to jail for theft. The problems that you had were brought on by yourself. Did you expect Aaron's to make your payment for you and give you the items for free? I had to pay for my things on time and you should do the same. I would have loved for them to lower my payment or make it for me because I couldn't. When that happens I call them to come and get it for a few weeks until I am better off and they will keep it for you and re deliver the item. If you follow your contract they will bend over backwards to help you at the store that I go to.

Aarons's is everything Eddie stated above plus some. I am also in Texas, but really wish to remain anonymous. We have been dealing with Aaron's now for a few months. Let it be known to all the readers that I DO realize my husband and I have defaulted on payments; however, we cannot help this downsizing economy and unfortunately it has really impacted us. I am a good person, as is my husband, and when we defaulted and realized we could no longer make payments, we had EVERY intention on returning the furniture, until Aaron's started showing their true colors. The local Aaron's store leaves messages ALL day long, they are so unprofessional that I didn't even know people like that still existed, much less had jobs! It is ashame that while all the good people are being laid off, the nasty ones are still sitting pretty in their jobs. The messages we have received are so awful, it is hard to believe this company has even survived as long as they have. Not only that, but these people DO NOT stop knocking on your door, especially if they know you are home. Honestly, my husband and I ignore it now, they can stand out there for hours and it will just be a waste of their time. One night, they demanded I let them in and I opened the door after an hour of knocking (let it be known they sit at our house until someone comes home) with my 10 month old child and this guy told me that he wasn't leaving until he saw that the "stolen" merchandise wasn't in here. I shut the door and called the Aaron's store and told them that this guy needs to leave my door because I am not letting him in. The guy on the phone told me it was okay to let him in because he was wearing an Aaron's shirt! Are you kidding? ANYONE can make those! YOU are NOT the law people. It just goes to show, being nice goes a LONG way. After we realized how awful and "above the law" these people think they are, we made the decision to not contact them anymore. We are willing to deal with a corporate employee, but as for the location here, I am not interested in speaking with anyone. Please don't rent from Aaron's, it isn't worth it and the products are LOUSY. We had a computer that broke after 3 months, never willing to fix it.
