How do they sleep knowing they are ripping off there customers. For a tv. They charge over $3,000.00 for a $1,200.00 Tv. How do they live knowing they screw the people that employ them?

The businesses that you refer to as mobsters, RAC, Aarons and Renway are providing a service for people who do not have the immediate means to pay cash for furniture, televisions, etc... These businesses need to turn a profit too, therefore customers pay much higher prices for the privalege to own items thatthey normally could not afford. If you dont like the way that these companies do business, then dont do business with them.

I really hope the Supreme court rules against RENT A CENTER and all of the other mobsters I mean rent places. That would make my year. How can you agree with the other guy? Not everybodys rich.So you are saying the people that are finacially challenged shound not be allowed to have anything nice? You only live once and not every body is perfect, nobody is.If you saw a person that was begging for food would you turn your back on them? To me thats the same as the mob -I mean rent places turning there back on the people that keep them in busniess. No they didn't put a gun to my head but rent places don't run small businees out of business (like WAL-MART). They make the poor more poor and strees them out even more then they are. I can't believe they would rather jack up there prices knowing only the lower class of people go there and purchase items then try to help the less fortunate. So now I guess you are going to say I'm complaning OH WELL.

I'm an ex-employee of RAC and RentWay. They know you aren't good with $, and that's why they stay in business. They also charge double for the CASH price of their items versus a regular store. When you rent to own it, you'll pay TWICE THEIR CASH PRICE before you own it. (That's 4x for the mathematically challenged.) It'll take you 2-3 yrs to pay it off from RAC. They also know that even though you complain about the price....you still rent it from them....LOL
But even if you finance something (although RAC doesn't finance, they RENT), you pay more. I bought a Ford a few years ago. The sales price was $11,000. My payments were $300/ mo. for 4 years. That's $14,400, but I NEEDED a newer car and I was willing to pay that price to get that car right then. Now, I WANTED a Jaguar...but didn't want to pay what they were charging for it. I am saving up for one though.
I still agree with the other guy. Buy a little $150 TV that you NEED and can afford, then save your money for the big one you WANT. Buy it from Wal-Mart or put it on layaway. You can watch the little one, and own a big one in 6 months. If you are willing to pay RAC's price to have it right now, then stop complaining. Oh yeh, they're not screwing you if you AGREE to their terms and prices. I mean, did they hold a gun to your head and make you sign the agreement and take this big-a*s overpriced TV?? LOL

Well I like to enjoy a good movie every now and then. But there is nothing like a big screen.Your right I should put aside money, but I'm bad with money, if I save that much I have to use it for something else. I'm just saying they know how bad it is for some people, well alot of people and they pray on that. Not all people are trash and try to take advantage of the situation by stealing it or not paying for it.And its not just a $1,200.00 tv they overcharge, its everything. As for my $1,200.00 TV its $3,246.78.They also say its new,How is it new? When they showed up with it, it was in a box.I seen them open it.But when I took a closer look there is writing on the back with permanent marker all over it(numbers ect)I know thats probly how they track it but it had to be out of the box to write on it.So how do I know that its not a used TV?If so shouldn't it be at a used price not to mention I can never remove the marker. It looks bad to.Besides if it was not for people like me they would not be in busniess.Don't you think they would have a concience knowing they are basically robbing there employer? What ever happen to customer service?

This is not at all unusual for payments of this type when you rent furniture, equipment, etc. Rather than rent the TV why not go without for a while, put aside the money you would have paid on rental, and buy a TV? By the way, why must you have a $1,200 TV? I'm perfectly content to use my 13" combo TV/VCR for which I paid $147. For an additional $39 I bought a DVD player. I'm confident I can view all the shows you do on your $1,200 TV.
