Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I will never do business with Aarons or any of its affiliates ever again.

We purchased a t.v from Aarons and unfortunately have had to endure there business practicesm harassing phone calls, calling all over the world asking about myself and my husband. I found that any company who already has been provided with all of your contact information may not contact any third party to do so.

"debt collectors may not call third parties under the pretense of gaining information already in his possession."

If your payment is due on the first and it is not made on that day. They will call you the next day and continue to do so everyday, sometimes twice a day.

They send letters to your home from their corporate offices and repeat this same manner every month. I want to say you should never do business with this company. EVER.

Thanks everyone for that information. I was not aware that the law didn't apply to Aarons. I still have a problem with the harrassing phone calls. Luckily for me it done and over with. I have paid off the TV, but I still will never ever do business with them again :)

FDCPA does not apply to them.

You need to read the definitions section of the FDCPA.  Aaron's is a CREDITOR, not a debt collector.  Thus, the restrictions of the FDCPA do not apply to Aaron's.

Aaron's is NOT a debt collector under the FDCPA, they are a CREDITOR.  Thus, the FDCPA doe NOT APPLY to them (unless you're in California.)

IF they were to contract with a debt collector (say, Joe Blow Collections) then Joe Blow Collections would be violating the FDCPA if they made such telephone calls.
