You are right, they should not be harassing children about the account and that should stop immediately. The Aaron's Lease Purchase agreement does not cover theft of the merchandise from your possession and payments are expected to continue under the terms of the agreement. It does cover damage to the merchandise as a result of a natural disaster such as fire, flood or tornado damage. You mentioned that you were paying on it for 3 years? The longest term for lease ownership for a mower at Aaron's is 2 years or 24 months from my experience. The insurance coverage that you pay for is already built into the monthly price that you pay along with state tax. You are covered under insurance, which covers manufacturers defect and not any damage as a result from your use, for as long as you lease it as well as 60 days after you pay off the item. Bottom line is--communicate with that Aaron's store and try to work out a solution. If you show the effort to communicate and work with them to reach a solution they will work with you and get you out of this situation.
