I purchase a 50" RCA model: (HDLP50W151) Friday October, 17th for $2700, the stand was $275 and the extended warranty was $369. I was lead to believe by the salesman (Dean Debaets)that if I purchased the extended warranty, if the TV needed repair within one year it would be replaced rather than repaired. This came to a total of: $3614.27 before I left the store.

When the TV was delivered Saturday 10/18/2003 at 11:00 am. all was well till Sunday night when the TV went blank and would not come back on. All day Monday from 9:30 am till 4:30 pm I was on the phone with RCA and management at the Sylvania, Ohio ABC store only to get very disgusted and upset. I was given numerous numbers by RCA of reputable TV repair shops that were supposed to be able to fix my new TV, none of them were able to fix the New DLP TV's because they were not up to date on this new technology and ABC Ware House refused to exchange the TV.

One of the managers at ABC warranty service was able to get a shop in Ohio "House Hold Repair" to call RCA, they ordered a Board of some kind for my TV, and the repairmen came out on Friday October 24th to put this board in which was to fix the problem, but it did not fix the problem. So over a week later (Monday, 10/ 27/03) I am still stuck with a $3614.27 dollar investment that does not work, and no one will acknowledge my problem, nether RCA or ABC Warehouse Management. Neither RCA nor ABC Warehouse has contacted me to see if there was a resolve to this problem and neither company has responded to my numerous e-mails.

Your salesman didn't tell you that.

I worked with Dean Debaets for about 10 years and I know he wouldn't have told you that they would replace your TV with in 1 year if you bought the warranty. Customers mysteriously hear things that are never said. If this was the case the entire store would be full of big screen TV's don't you think? What would have been told to you is that if it couldn't be repaired it would be replaced. That's the policy. Usually if you complain to ABC Warehouse long enough and loud enough they will take care of you. Abc Warehouse does have good prices and they do take care of their customers as well as any other appliance store.
