Abigail Hotel America's best Value Civic Center DO NOT STAY! San Francisco, California
I registered to stay at the Abigail Hotel (now called America's Best Value Civic Center) through hotel planner. I registered for an extra night through the hotel. I arrived with my mother and 2 small children Saturday night.
When we arrived at the hotel, it looked nothing like the photos on the internet. It was dirty and poorly lit. They said it was recently renovated but was in terrible condition. The carpet was dirty. The guest bathroom has plaster crumbling off the wall. It reminded me of a rooming house rather than a hotel.
The hotel is in a bad area. The police, who regularly partol the area, said the hotel is a half way house and drug infested. While there we waited for 2 hours to get a cab to take us to another hotel. It never came so we jumped in a car service that brought call girls to the hotel.
I asked about a refund on my reservation but needed to speak with a manager. Hotel planner refunded some of the money. After speaking with a hotel manager, they said they have a strict 48 hour cancellation policy and could not refund my money.
It was beyond awful. Do not stay! It isn't worth it.
