ACE Rent A Car - Orlando Florida ACE Car Rental BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM Orlando Florida
Rented car from ACE through Hotwire. Reserved a Nissan Armada, large enough to fit 6 people with luggage. Upon arrival, after waiting almost 1.5 hours to get to the counter, was told location doesn't rent that vehicle but would provide something similar. The "similar" vehicle was a Nissan Pathfinder, much smaller and inappropriate.
We were told our only solution was to rent two vehicles. Classic bait and switch. Also told us that we had to purchase a toll pass for $9.99 a day as Florida tolls no longer accept cash. That statement is found on the brochures all over counter - it is also a blatant lie. Would not accept our personal insurance and told us we had to purchase their insurance - that is illegal.
In talking to people on the shuttle bus, everyone said that they had a similar experience - right down to not getting the vehicle they reserved. This company should not be allowed to do business. Read the YELP AND RipOff Report reviews and the pattern of fraud becomes quite clear. STAY AWAY!
