Ace Rent A Car DO NOT USE! Bait and Switch. San Diego, California
I found ACE Rent a Car online. They offered a great deal, so I called up, spoke to them on the phone, and reserved a car for our vacation.
When we arrived at the San Diego airport, we called the number they gave us, and after a very long wait, a shuttle bus finally came to pick us and two other couples up. We all (three independent couples) arrived at the ACE Rent a Car office to find that there were NO cars at all available.
With little choice lest we be stranded in a strange city with a bunch of luggage, we all allowed ourselves to be shuffled over to the car rental place next door, Midway. Of course, Midway charged significantly more.
This is a huge scam, and may even involve the two companies working together. ACE reserves cars knowing they have nothing available. Then they shuffle you over to "another" company, Midway, where you are charged a lot more than the original deal. You are left with no choice but to take it.
These companies should be shut down and their owners arrested.
