Across USA Moving and Storage is a shady company ironically located on Shady Lane, Dallas, Texas
Beware of this company! They inflate the price of the move after belongings are loaded on their truck. They hold goods hostage until paid the inflated "ransom". They use intimidation to cow women who find themselves alone with the movers. They take your credit card information and charge unauthorized amounts.
All these things happened during my move. In researching other complaints, I found 14 identical complaints in the first 3 sites I looked at. Their BBB rating is currently a D+. There is good reason for this failing grade. (When I researched them before my move, they had an "A" rating---they failed quickly as folks like me who trust the BBB complained!)
A former employee (who happened to have worked with my contract and witnessed the credit card fraud) confirmed that all these tactics are, in fact, routine and part of the training for employees. There is NO WAY to protect yourself from being ripped off once you allow them to gain access to your personal belongings.
Beware and go elsewhere!
