Word to the Wise - Use Caution if you ever apply to this Company for a JOB !!

I suggtest you get everything in writing.

I was contacted by Action Debt Recovery Collection Agency by RICK WINN the owner after he saw my resume on CRAIGSLIST. I went into see see him and vwe talked about the job. Everything sounded good to me and I was to be in the SMALL office the next Monday.

First, there is NO TRAINING... I mean NONE. He uses a system called BLOODHOUND and you are pushed to the desk within a blink of an eye. Nobody shows you a thing about the program or how to get into it. It was all fast talking and you try to grasp what you can in 15 minutes- then you are on your own.

Second, This owner was with another agency not as a Collector in any capacity, but more on the computer side . He ability to understand the actual processing of collections was and is limited at best. He decided to leave a company called Florida First and go on his own. Low and behold 6 months ago, he opens ACTION DEBT RECOVERY on 56th Street in Temple Terrace, Florida.

Third:    First, he does not have sufficient amount of accounts to maintain 4 collectors. He drills it in your head he's not getting the money and he needs money now. Well, the accounts do not bring in the dollars he is seeking. He "claims" he brings in 1 to 1/5 million dollars of NEW BUSINESS every month. I don't see how . I know somehow - somway in the kitchen area he has 2 computers slamming out e-mails to every company in the known world ( LOL ) and shooting them businerss solictations. From what I have been told , it is illegal in the state of Florida. You have to get approval to remit any solitation to any company. So, all day long these two computers are banging out solitation to offer his services. Even with that, the accounts were NOT there.

Fourth: Get your pay in writing. After 2 weeks he tells me that he can't pay base + commission but that I was hired strictly on Commission... WHAT !!! I never would have taken a COMMISSIOON Collections positions - NEVER !!.

fifth:  The commissipon structure is not achievable to live off of. I saw three people in and out of the company while there, and learned later two came in and two never came back from lunch.

sixth: Rick is a nice guy, but he is not a BUSINESSMAN. I would say the company will be out of business by September 2010. He is there very early and there after 7-8pm.

The structure he shows you on Commissions sounds great- reality of it is... you wont hit the structure.... he wants , because the work is NOT there. He needs a full time person to just get NEW ACCOUNTS. You will not be going on any vacations at the work he has assaigned to you. You'll get frustrated in 2 weeks trying to live on his fee structure. The accounts are from $250.oo to $450.00  , yeah there are larger ones, but the majority of the work is not LARGE enough to sustain a BIG commission check.

In these times, people just don't have the money anymore. People are out of work, businesses failing, unemployment is getting higher, and people are afraid to spend their cash. Collections is not the Collections it was 6,8,10 years ago. You are working harder to collect less, and the Agencies reflect it in your pay.

There is alot of Debt out there - but - people aren't paying like they did before.

SUGGESTION:

GET YOUR PAY STRUCTURE IN WRITING FROM YOUR BOSS.

GIVE IT 2 WEEKS BUT NOT MORE THAN 30 DAYS AND SEE IF WHAT THEY CLAIMED YOU'LL GET - YOU CAN LIVE OFF OF.

LOOK AT YOUR DATA BASE - YOU ARE NO DUMMY - FIGURE OUT HOW MANY ACCOUNTS YOU'LL NEED TO REALLY COLLECT TO MAKE IT.

SEE IF THERE IS TRAINING..on any new job there is a learning curve.

SEE IF THERE ARE BENEFITS

TALK TO OTHERS THERE MORE THAN 3 TO 5 MONTHS- GET THEIR OPINION.

KEEP LOOKING FOR A POSITION EVEN THOUGH YOU MAY HAVE A NEW ONE - IT IS ALWAYS GOOD TO HAVE A TRUMP CARD IN YOUR BACK POCKET JUST IN CASE IT DOESN'T WORK OUT.

MONEY TALKS.... SHOW ME THE MONEY - NOT WHAT YOU EXPECT - THE REAL HARD WORLD IS OUT THERE FOLKS - BEING IN THE BUSINESS AS A COLLECTOR - YOU HAVE TO ASK YOURSELF IS IT POSSIBLE TO MAKE A GOOD CHECK ON THE JOB - OR IS IT GOING TO BE A STRUGGLE EVERY TWO WEEKS AND LISTENING TO BULL s**t OF... I NEED IT NOW FOLKS- GET ON THOSE PHONES AND POUNDS THOSE TELEPHONES....

DUHH.. WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE CAME IN FOR TO HAVE COFFEE AND SMELL YOUR BAD BREATH YOU MORON,..WE ARE TRYING... IT'S BAD OUT THERE... WE ARE DIALING OUR FINGERS OFF TO MAKE IT WORK... DON'T PUT MORE STRESS ON OUR BACKS... I HATE THAT VOICE STANDING THERE YELLING... COME ON PEOPLE  I NEED MONEY... YEAH.. THEN GET OFF YOUR a*s AND HELP OUT.

JUST A REFLECTION OF A BAD DAY.  GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING.

I hate to say this but Richard Wynn the owner of Action debt recovery is the same guy who worked at Florida First Financial for over 20 years. I think its really funny that Rick tries to post his own reviews about his company as a consumer. Here is what I found at another site"I have placed several accounts with Action Debt Recovery that were previously with Florida First Financial Group aka Lee, Alan, Reed & Associates and they have done a wonderful job for me" ... LOL this is great, I cant wait to place accounts with you rick sinceyour the same guy from Florida First.

#4REBUTTAL Owner of company

Sat, March 13, 2010

I have been debating for the last 2 weeks if I even wanted to spend my time to respond to these accusations! I don't even like this website and feel that many unsubstantiated claims and remarks damage individuals and or their companies reputation.

But, because I am concerned about the integrity of my name and my company name, I am forced into replying to this!

The facts will be listed in the order of Richard "Bruno" Catti' letter to this website.

1) SMALL Office!  Irrelevant but correct. I don't need a fancy 5,000 sf office suite! I would rather spend the money on state of the art computers, phones and skip tracing services to enhance the collections of my clients accounts.

2) Richard I'm not sure why you claimed that you didn't receive any training on my collection software? You were trained for several days on a relatively simple collection program and had 2 of my assistants along with other collectors constantly helping you with questions you had. I even asked you several times myself if there were any questions that I could answer for you!

3) I have 20 years of experience in the collection industry and know both sides of the business very well, collections & marketing. I also have a degree in computer technology and that does help out in any business!

4)  I have a very large inventory of delinquent accounts that keep more than 4 collectors busy at this very moment.

5) E-mail marketing! Irrelevant but none the less, I'm in compliance.

6) The pay structure was explained very clearly to you during your interview. Several of my collectors are doing very well and making very good money.

Richard I think you would have made alot of money with my company had you given it more than 2 weeks. As you know, you have to build up payments with your debtor Q and this takes time. You were collecting on the accounts and again, it takes more than 2 weeks.

I treated you with respect and didn't make a big deal about you being sick the entire 2nd week of employment with my company. Any other questions, comments or concerns that you may have, I would appreciate the courtesy and professionalism of a phone call or a visit to my office rather than using this site as a communication link.

I wish you nothing but the best in life and told you this when you quit.
