I was contacted by AFL Arbitrage Pty Ltd in about May 2007, after a few months of phone calls and being pressured into joining up by a salesman called 'Mark' with the company. On 28th August 2007, I signed up to go ahead with the $7600.00 invesment deal that should have made me a few thousand dollars by now.

I was told that $6,600.00 is for the bookie to run my account, and the $1000.00 is the starting capital. They have done nothing for their money and I am out of pocket.

After signing and sending my paperwork back, I waited for the directors name and signature to be sent back to me, this never came.

I was told I would have access to my money at any time if I needed it. I also thought I would receive after each month, a desriptive statement showing monies made in the arbitrage betting.

Since joining in August I have received a statement 9 Oct 07, 6 Nov 07 and 4 Dec 2007. Three statements that I do not understand. After not receiving a statement in January I was told they were being sent out 3 monthly now. I am still waiting for another statement.

Also I questioned the company on gaining access to the computer website to see what they are doing and I have never been able to gain access. They told me they are just trying to sort the website out, even seven months later, I cannot gain access to a single thing. I have no idea what is going on.

Each time I call the office 1300 727 304 I get the receptionist who refuses to tell me anything. Jeff (the bookie) is always either out of busy. Calls me back sometimes.

I called their office today and got quite upset with them because I said I am not happy with the service or lack of service should I say.

I have contacted Office of Fair Trading, who tell me yes if you can't afford to loose the money, don't do it. Then I called ACCC and they suggested I should send a letter of demand asking for my money back and if I don't get a reply within seven days I will report them to Office of Fair Trading, I don't understand how everyone can pass the buck while these people are ripping us off, how are they getting away with this, creating so many different companies and changing address along the way. I checked the company details on ASIC and noticed AFL Arbitrage as a registered company, with three separate ABN and ACN numbers.

I believe this to be nothing but another gambling SCAM that everyone should stay right away from. The only people making money in this game are the people who set out to rip others off.

I have emailed my complaint to Tracy Grimshaw at A Current Affair. I am finding out though that once you have been scammed, you have to work it out yourself how to sort the mess out.

I look forward to getting my money back somehow, some way, but I will fight them.

HEY GUYS.....WHY WERE YOU RUNNING???....THAT JUST LOOKED SO BAD!!! Running from A Current Affair cameramen. Oh and nice house....and great boat.....did we all contribute to them? Honest people face up.....dirtbags stealing money from people run and hide.....WORK IT OUT. I said to (Mark..who I know now was a made up name) when I signed up and questioned your bullet proof contract, 'I hope you're not ripping me off.' Since August last year, all those phone calls telling me its all good..nothing is good. You said, yeh mate, you have around $3000 (rough estimate) in your account..when it was printed in black and white $133.00, maybe you need to buy an accurate calculator because the one you have has really let you down... Stop the spending...and give all your victims their money back.

Has anyone else had better luck that I have? I still don't understand how this company can advertise in their glossy booklet, "arbitrage" is a 'risk-free transaction' every time. These guys are proud of their success by their own deception. I think their contract should be attached to the front of that booklet...then no one would sign up. Jeff, Michael, Mark, Joanne and anyone else who is employed by this company....tell me how do you sleep peacefully at night knowing you take money from people with a view to NEVER make them a profit? Just spin them a few yarns along the way. It's a crime to rob a bank, people go to jail for that....so how can it not be a crime to pressure good hard working people out of their money and by designing yourselves a 'bullet proof contract' that results in a favourable outcome only for the company. The contract contradicts everything stated in that booklet. I would have had better luck buying $7600 worth of scratch tickets.

I have forwarded my letter of demand to AFL requesting my money back and asked for a reply within two weeks. The two weeks is up tomorrow. To date, nothing, I thought as much. I see there website has disappeared, gee I wonder why they would do that. Must be nice, trusting and reliable people that work at AFL. They should run to the nearest sandpit and stick there heads in there. Jeff, Mark and Michael, if you are getting updates from this website, please tell me how you can take money from hard working people who get a rapour with you on the phone etc and know d**n well you were not going to do the right thing by any of us. I have three kids and many bills (including school fees) and I thought this investment would get me ahead, I didn't think it was too good to be true, I trusted Mark and Jeff and that was my biggest mistake. Instead, this investment has left me stressed and I will never trust another financial deal. If you guys ever call our office again, you will get a completely different response from me. PS What goes around...comes around... I hope the flees of a million dogs invest your armpits.

Thank you Susan for your encouragement. Yes I fully intend to continue & will be sending a copy of my letter to the ACCC & ASIC & anyone else i can think of.I just hope all this prevents some one else getting caught. Yes it get me that these people so easily do this & do not seem to have any qualms about taking peoples money with no intention of doing the right thing by them. Carol

I received a phone call today from the company after they received the email from your website. They have happily agreed to refund my money and told me that it would not be a problem. They assured me this is not a rip off. Bearing in mind, there are many systems like this that are. I have requested that this report be withdrawn as I am sorting the problem out with the company direct. I am hoping for a favourable outcome after my discussion with them today.
