On 5/11 day before prom, my son & I went to pick up tux rental at After Hours Formal Wear. Though he was measured by a Tuxedo expert(as they claim)it was way too big! The attendant said they ordered the smallest size for him, yet the Pants was too big and the adjustable clip on the right side was broken and couldn't be repaired; she said it would have to sewn to fit.

I asked why not Wednesday for fitting and they looked at me like I was stupid and made snide remarks; then the attending "expert" said we should look for another design because she isunsure they have his size; all the time telling me that they ordered the samllest size. By this time we were devasted and dissappointed with the service ;more so they were not reassuring that we will get a correct fit. I was near tears, not knowing how to fix the problem the evening before the prom

I decided I wanted a refund when a customer was cussing that this was the third time in the store and they still can't get the right fit.

That did it ! I asked for a refund and was told only the manager could do that; then I waited another 1/2 hour; added to the 2 1/2hrs I was in line for pick up,a dressing room, and an attendant.

Another attendant, the only polite one at the time told me only the manager could do refunds and I must come back as she is too busy to do the refund. I went back twice on Friday 12th May 2006; waited 1 1/2 hour before I could get the refund; for which they charged me a $20.oo processing fee.

While this is the stores policy, I feel that they did not provide the service while claiming to be experts in the field.

Thanks for the opportunity to state my side of what I think was an injustice .

I understand the frustration that may have been caused by your experience at After Hours, but there are some things that people need to realize. I have worked for this company for almost three years and there are a lot of things that people do not understand. After Hours has so many styles and sizes that they cannot accompany all of them in one store. Therefore, every store takes measurements and orders the garments to be tried on a day before the event (2 days before for weddings) to make sure that everything fits correctly. Just like the girls try on the dress before for alterations, so must the men as well. If everything was guaranteed to fit they would have everyone pick up the day of the event. As far as the "processing fee" it is a cancellation fee for cancelling your order. This is the money it costs the company to send your tuxedo and reserve your garments for your event, and then restock or send them back when you do not need them. Also, as far as not having sizes it is prom season and many styles and sizes go quick. I honestly think that if you went to a mom and pop shop, you would've had a lot more problems because they have less garments in stock. After Hours is always there to fix their problems when they leave a customer without a tuxedo.
