Ahi Hale Ohana Hale, Coconut Hale owned by a woman named Charged me for a room I was not able to stay in because they overbooked the rooms, and had to find alternate lodging . Kailua-Kona Hawaii
Booked this room through Booking.com. Paid for room at time of booking via debit card. When we arrived at the site, there was no one there to check in with. The number listed went straight to voicemail. Another couple drove up while we were waiting shortly after 3:30 pm. They were there to meet the owner of the rental rooms and said the same thing happened to them two nights previously, and also to two other families they had met the night they tried to check in.
They had come to meet the owner to be reimbursed. The woman never showed up. On the 3rd attempt to call, she did answer the phone; gave me a run around, refused to come to the site; did not have my name, wanted a booking number, which I supplied; then told me "frankly, I am having a problem because I am overbooked" and she hung up on me.
We went on to look for another room because there were no hotel/motel rooms available in Kona that night, it was high tourist season. Fortuantley , we found a room on the opposite side of the Island, but had to travel 2.5 hours to get there. The other people stayed with some friends they knew, and I was told one of the families had come from Japan and one from China and they had to sleep outside because there were no rooms for them. I am out a little money; others more so. This place is fraudulent. I hope this woman will be held accountable. All I know is her name is "Edith" and her phone number is (808)640-4962. This occured on February *th, 2018 in Kailua Kona, Hawaii.
