AHS - American Home Shield Warranty Company AHS BEWARE FOR AMERICAN HOME SHIELD FOR THEY ARE A SCAM. THEY LIE, DO NOT SUPPORT WHEN ACTUAL WARRENTY IS NEEDED, AND AVOID YOU. Memphis, Tennessee
I have been with AHS for 8 years. $44.00 a month for 8 years....yes lots of money. My home was built in 1993. I recently had to have my hot water heater replaced and that was a nightmare! I ended up having to ask for a supervisor at AHS to so the process through. Now, my original 1993 central A/C has had the last of the "fix its" and as it makes total sense, REALLY need to be replaced. THIS is what I thought would be the pay off for the years and years of paying every month and not actually having to call AHS for service for 98% of those months.
The service and piece/peace of mind that AHS boasts DOES NOT HAPPEN! They gave me, along with the local A/C company, "Total Air Care" amajor run around for two weeks. Total Air Care said they put freon in but the system never got cooled. They led us on, both companies, for three weeks. They would say they would call me back and did not, until of course after I cancelled with American Home Shield. They have an, "Emergency" clause in their announcement when one calls in for service. It has been over 100 degress in this city for 3 weeks, but they still continued to put us off. They savior company who I called to come to my rescue used a leak detector, (I was standing right there" and within seconds we found 3 leaks. Total Air care never once did this test but yet kept replacing small, lower $$ items but we never got the A/C back. We have lived in 80-90 degrees in the home since this all started 3 weeks ago.
Now, after year of paying in for just this reason, I have had to find my own company, who by the way is incredible, to validate very quickly, that this 16 year old system needs to be replaced. They are "Ideal Conditions" and they are very professional and fast. They are installing today. Again, we have been forced to live in this dangerous conditions for 3 weeks now. I wonder who they would feel if they had to work in these conditions?
Please, please please learn from my mistake and DO NOT buys home warrenty with American Home Shield. You WILL regret it.
