AIG Extended Warranty Co. Highly incompetent, No customer service Nationwide
We purchased a high end KitchenAid dishwasher among other high end KitchenAid/Whirlpool appliances. KitchenAid/Whirlpool offered an extended service warranty which we also purchased directly through Whirlpool. The service contract was recently sold to AIG Extended Warranty Company.
Every call begins wtih at least a 20-25 minute hold just to reach the CSR. AIG is scamming the working public as they do NOT have any appointments outside of normal working hours so you must take time off work if you want to use your extended warranty. AIG suggested we hire our own repair company and submit the bill for consideration however they would not provide anyting in writing that we would be reimbursed. After one week of frustration attempting to secure an appt. I was told a supervisor would contact me. Another week has passed and the supervisor call remains pending.
After washing our dishes by hand for over one week my husband agreed to take time off of work; I schedule the appt. between 12 & 5pm as that is when he can be home. We receive an automated call from the repair company the evening prior confirming our appt. between 8am & 12. When I called the repair company they attempted to re schedule our appt as their schedule was full. Ultimately my husband had to depart work earlierwith no pay to accomodate our appt set by an incompetent AIG customer service Rep.
Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool needs to re consider their relationship with AIG as AIG severly lacks the high level of customer service we have been accustom to from Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool during our years of owning their many products. When the time comes to replace our numerous Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool appliances we may be forced into considering an alternative brand of appliances with a reputable extended servce warranty.
