Air & Land travel ripoff consumer fraud Tampa Florida
We (My wife and I) were given a Las Vegas vacation for two through MVI Marketing for attending a 90 minute time share meeting approximately a year ago. We were required to send a refundable $100 and all appropriate travel information by certified mail to the above address. We have received confirmation it was received on 06/19/02 by (what looks like) "SS".
According to our previous instructions, we would receive our travel package 14 days in advance of our trip. That has past and it looks very dismal. We Have heard nothing after the company got our money and if I hadn't looked it up on the internet, I would not even know a phone number or the problems encountered by others.
I called the number listed and the person answering gave me a customer service number (813-769-4240), which no-one answers. My first call lasted 5 minutes and I got cut off after 5 recordings of "All operators are busy. Please hold.". My 2nd call lasted for 9 minutes before I got cut off. Same story.
My questions are: #1. What laws cover taking our money through the U.S. Postal Service and take it knowingly we would not be getting what was told to us? #2. Who allows them to continue taking people's money? Is it the state? I feel sorry for the people who don't have the internet to find this out.
