AirBnb is NOT going to be a website or an app you every use to book your travel. This was the worst experience that resulted in my family and I being in a hotel vs a house for 8 days. 

We found AirBnb online and booked a house for 8 days in McKinney TX. The website asked the we pay upfront site unseen for a house, upload a photo ID, and the host/hostess will contact us with specifics. It sounded like a scam right off, however, we had some friends that used the company and said it worked out for them. Plus, to rent a hotel with similar accommodations would have been double the cost so we took a chance. My wife, 2 teenage children, and 80 year old father (along with myself) were all set to stay in this advertised 4 bedroom home with access to the entire house.

Okike, the home owner/hostess, contacted us immediately the day we booked and they drafted the money from our account. We called her to ask for time to see the home prior to our check in date to make sure it would meet our needs. She said "Sure, I'm in a meeting right now and will call you back to set it up." We never heard back from her nor the company until the date of check-in. She sent a text message saying the key is under the mat along with the home address. When I texted back asking specifics about the house since we never saw it, she called me. All rooms were upstairs, the downstairs room she lives in (never mentioned), so my 80 year old father would have to walk up and down stairs for 8 days to get to his bed/bathroom.

Robert T with AirBnb never responded as our account manager. We had to speak with 2 different people to cancel and request a refund. Josh was most helpful in the process. He understood the frustration and refunded our money. Unfortunately, we have to wait 5 to 7 business days for the funds to be put back in our account. Then, we get an email from Robert T saying they have permanently deleted our profile and cancelled our reservation a day after Josh took care of this for us.

I would stay far away from this company. We should have listened to the reviews from other upset customers because what was said is ALL true as it relates to the horrible level of service and inconvenience caused by AirBnb.
