Well it all started around this summer when I recieved a phone call from a colleage that I had never heard about or even remotly remmber giving any information too. But at the time I was looking at prospective online schools. (Probibly how they got my info) It was AIU.

From the begining the lady who called started selling me every line of bull she could to get me into the school. I know im young and gullable at times so I fell for it.

At the time I was working for a short while and was making a decent living so I went thru all the hoops. Paying the $50 dollars (which my fammily wonderd why a good school would charge that just to accept you.)

Everything went fine as I filled out and sent in all the required paper work. I was TOLD that if I didn't like my education I was recieving that I could cancel on only pay a perentage of the class I tooks cost.

So I went thru my first class. Which was part of a series of buisness classes. I had told them countless times how I wanted to train in computer sciences(programing) but they signed me up for this crud. I blew thru it. The course was crap and when we did a group project me and only 2 others ever even worked on it. We got an A and I quit the school because durring that time I had left my job and wasn't sure if I could find another to pay for the courses. And told my admissions counsuler about this.

She kept telling me it would be ok and to do this that and this. She was even going to help me find a job by looking at my resume(Which is fine but in this small town there is no buisness that require it*Cough*McDonnalds*Cough*

They let me quit easy enough when it was behind my admissions counsalers(spelled right?) back.(She would dodge me quitting every time.)

But now months later they are telling me how they couldn't pay back the loans I got completly and now ill owe my lenders $1,500 in a few more months. Which is my fault for signing crap with out tottaly reading it. I hopefully will have another job then and will be able to pay it off so I don't end up having bad credit beffore I even get credit.

I say what ever you do don't get suckerd by this school. If you even hear mention of AIU over the phone hang up or you will be like me. Suckerd into it.

I'm a graduate of AIU Buckhead and I can definitely vouch that AIU gives out "A"'s regardless of whether they are truly earned or not. AIU totally relies on the "group project" in every class. You are teamed with individuals who don't do any work and don't have the capacity to do any quality work but yet and still miraculously you all get an "A"! It's unbelievable and it invalidates the students who do work hard and do quality work. AIU needs to get its' act together and get it together fast. They are always being sued by former and current students and they have yet to address the multitude of internal problems. You can't continue to run a business this way and expect word not to get around. I'm glad they are on the Ripoff report so potential "students" can make an informed decision to attend this college. I wish I had of known how badly the financial aid department functions before I was trapped into finishing my degree. I had already lost a year of credits when I transferred and was too far in to finsihing my degree to transfer to a more reputable school. I had no choice but to finish and complete my degree. I'm happy I'm at least done with them and now I'm worried that the bad reputation may bar me from potential jobs in the Fashion Industry. Right now it's a blessing that most people have never heard of AIU.
