I am a homeowner and Al Triolo was hired by a potential buyer to inspect my home. Al arrived at my home on 6/16/2016 and before he introduced himself proceeded to kick my siding to where the house shook. When I walked behind the buyer and Al, he explained that he worked for the buyer and he doesn't allow the homeowner to accompany him as he does his inspection. I backed off and told Al if he had any questions to let me know. When it came time for Al to inspect my garage I opened the door and let him in. Al was also accompained by another younger guy who was not identified to me. I'm not sure if it was another licensed inspector or if his unlicensed kid was tagging along. T

he other guy proceeded to remove my electrical panel and I let them do what they needed to do. Al immediately walked right to my table saw and asked me questions about cutting laminate and the cost of my saw. I explained that I wasn't sure on the cost as I received it no charge and it was probably $700-$800 retail. Al replied in front of the customer and the buyer's agent (They clearly heard it as well) was "Well if you didn't pay for it and you sold it to me for $200, you'd still make a profit and you'd get a perfect home inspection!" I was confused and stared at Al wondering if he had just implied that I should bribe him with my table saw for a perfect home inspection. After a long uncomfortable pause, Al said "I'm just kidding, I don't play games like that". At that point I thought it was just a bad joke and moved on.

From the garage on, Al seemed to be a lot more receptive to me tagging along and asked a lot of questions about my home so I walked with the group. When it came time to turn on my downstairs heating zone, it didn't work. I changed the batteries in the thermostat and still nothing. In 11 years I had never had an issue until that day. I explained I had a service contract and would get it fixed asap. As we made it upstairs, Al used his temperature gun, and claimed my central ac wasn't blowing cold enough air. I tried my temperature gun and found the same results. I found it strange that the night before it was blowing ice cold air and now all of a sudden it didn't work. I had also had the Evaporative Coil replaced 6 days prior which was a $1500 part covered under my warranty so for the a/c not to work was more puzzling.

From there Al finished his report and I saw a copy the next day when the buyer sent to the agents. Al was kind enough to claim I had structural damage to my roof and his ballpark estimate was $11,000 to repair it. Al never went on the roof, Al did not have a ladder, Al is not a licensed roofer, nor a licensed contractor. Al shouldn't be giving any estimates he's not qualified to and certainly not ballpark estimates that are more than double what actual costs are. Al could not see the rafters in my roof from my attic either because my  attic. Since then, I have 2 licensed insured roofers with A+ BBB ratings quote less than half the $11,000 Al ballparked and confirmed no structural damage to my roof. A sheet or two of plywood needs to be replaced but not $11,000 worth of repairs. Al brags on his website that most inspectors don't give estimates but he does to get you the most money off the house.

This continued for the next few days. Al also included that my downstairs heat didn't work and my A/C needed servicing. That night of the inspection my A/C didn't work and it was a miserable night. The following evening when I returned home, I went outside to look at the compressor and realized it wasn't on. After walking around my warm house I went into the garage to find that several breakers were off on the panel. Once I turned the breakers on, my downstairs heat and A/C were working as they always had.

As I put 2 and 2 together, the insinuation that I should bribe Al, my heat and A/C not working from breakers conveniently being turned off, and a complete bogus $11,000 roof estimate, I now understand Al's corrupt ways and intentions. If he needs to turn off breakers and inflate estimates for a roof that he never walked on, he's a corrupt and unethical liar. He has caused issues with the potential sale of my home for his bogus claims and made my life a living hell trying to correct the damage he did in a mere hour and a half. If you're buying a home and need a few bucks off by Al creating ficticious issues, Al's the guy for you, but what will you really learn about the home you're looking to buy?, And what is Al really in a home for? A bribe? Al is dishonest as the day is long. DO NOT LET THIS MAN IN YOUR HOME UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!
