Albertsons ripoff of employees by company San Angelo Texas
When I started working for Albertsons in March 1980, mit was a great company to work for; they cared about and took care of their employees, but Joe albertson was still alive and in charge. Here it is 26 years later and I finally couldn't take anymore abuses and ripoffs, so i "retired" in April 2006, and heres what happened:
about six months ago in the receiving dept ( I'm the Receiving Clerk) I opened a banana box and a gray cloud that was making scrating noises came out of the box and the next thing I know I had 15-20 rats all over me, on my body, touching my skin!! It absolutely paralized me, I was overcome with total fear (shock, horror, disgust).
the management laughed when I told them that I couldn't work in those kind of conditions. I was always hearing squeeking noises at work, so i was always looking around for rats, it made me not able to do my job like I was before the rats. I had alot of sleepless nights thinking about those d**n things.
So on April 3, 2006 I left Albertsons after 26 years. My store director told me that he would keep me on the books until the 13th of April (my anniversary date) so that I could get paid my 108 hrs of vacation pay, well guess what, they screwed me, I have yet to see my money (that was promised), so it just goes to show you that loyalty, hard work, and half of your life doesn't mean crap to them.
Hell, just last year they decided to take away everybodies accrued sick pay that we earned ( 1 hr sick pay for every 40 hrs worked), I had over 700 hrs and it just disappeared. i am totally disappointed in the company that a few years ago I would have defended to the death, now it looks like they want the "old timers" to really just go away and die. Joe would roll over in his grave if he knew how his people were being treated.
