My Mom parked at a tow away zone in Fort Lauderdale, FL across from Seveneleven on Las Olas Blvd. The parking lot is supposed to be a "guarded lot" with daily pass. My Mom not knowing you have to pay after midnight, proceeded to take a 30 minute walk on the beach. All County towing towed the car in 30 minutes. When questioned who called them, they said the "owner of the lot". THERE WAS NO SUCH PERSON, NOBODY WAS THERE AT 2AM!!!! When she walked into the Seveneleven to ask for help, they offered to call the towing company to see if they have the car. (the lot is not Seveneleven's property!!!!) - how did they have all the information to the towing company?????? when I walked in to pick my mom up, I noticed a TAXI DRIVER RANDOMLY HANGING OUT IN SEVENELEVEN!!! How convenient I thought.... The employees of Seveneleven were looking at me expecting some compensation for letting my mom use their phone... I gave them nothing!!! Well, turns out they got it ALL figured out!!! I believe, Seveneleven employees get a kickback from the towing company each time they report someone not getting a permit for the night!!! Who else is there to see a car parked at 2 am???? NO GUARD WAS ON DUTY AT THE TIME!!!!

Then they charged $124.00 cash only, no change provided!!! Her purse was in the trunk and would not let us get it, saying we could not enter the property!!!! So he had to go and get it. (touching our personaly property) Not sure what went missing from the purse! The company is in the middle of nowhere, seems to be a very dangerous place and he made us wait there for a long time! Very unprofessional guy (well, what do you really expect working at a place like that????) and he was armed! wonder what he would do if you try to prove or argue your point??????

So if I read this right your Mom parked in a Tow Away Zone between Midnight and 2AM to take a walk on the beach? I don't care how safe you think a city is, that just sounds very dumb espcially if she was by herself. Now, you said that she didn't know she had to pay after midnight. Well in a Tow Away Zone you don't pay because you are NOT supposed to park there. As to the "random Taxi Cab Driver". You are sooooooo right having a Taxi Cab Driver at a 24-Store is way out of the ordinary. That is almost as crazy as seeing the sun come up in the morning. I bet if you go to 100 Seven-Elevens you won't see that again. Also it is very funny to hear you talk about safety about where the Tow Yard was. Because remember it was your mom who was walking on the beach alone at around 2AM in the morning.

Your mother parked illegally and got towed, and you are angry because it happened? perhaps she should be aware of where she parks? As for 7-11, I guarantee you that your mother was not the first person this happened to. The clerk probably knew how to contact them. I worked at a store for years in missouri, and I often knew how to contact many of the businesses in the area, especially if it was something like this. Teh taxi drivers had nothing to do with. Every store I've ever worked at has taxi drivers hang out at it. They like to sit at C-stores.
