All Leisure Pool and Spa Brien Fraser All Talk, No Follow-Through Brentwood, California
Brien Fraser made our back yard possible when other contractors couldn't. We liked his vision and imagination and ability to "think outside the box." We wouldn't have the nice yard we have now if it weren't for him.
He said the job would take "a few months," but it has been eight months and we're still nowhere near done. It involved retaining walls, grading, a pool, concrete and landscaping. Each step of the way was accompanied by a story to justify why long periods of no progress would go by. He would set expectations such as, "When we're done, it's going to be done. We'll take care of the whole process to get you a finished yard." Then extra charges kept coming up, and reasons for why he couldn't do what he had promised.
Once he has been paid, you don't see him for a long time to finish up what he started. Only the promise to pay more will get him back to the site.We've had a checklist of items that we agreed on to get the final details of the job finished. For two months, nothing has been done.
I had to have another pool expert come and fix the faulty installation of the Pent-Air panel, the faulty installation of the solar heating, the faulty chemical treatment of the water, and more. Our pool plaster is permanently darkened because of Brien's neglect of the proper pool chemistry. He talks like he knows what needs to be done, but then the right thing just doesn't happen. And he always has a good story to explain why it is how it is.
His strength was his ability to come up with a yard layout that we liked. His weaknesses are: not doing what he said he would do, shoddy work (pool, sprinklers, retaining walls, drainage, and more all have problems), and failure to complete the job.
I would recommend NOT using Brien for any job, mainly because of the inability to communicate truthfully and follow through with expectations that have been set. Two people stopped by our house on separate occasions to warn me that Brien had frustrated them with his workmanship and failure to complete their jobs. Wow! They took the time to come to my house and warn me! I will definitely do the same when I find out where he's working.
