This is the main reason that there are so many problems in the USA and in other countries all over the world. The bankers control the government and our government leaders are serving the banking cartel, not the people of this country.

This report is about overdraft fees on a bank account. What does it have to do with a loan modification?

Not that it matters if the report is legit or not because Karl took away any credibility a long time ago..and will continue to.

I have just read your RIP and am firmly decided on how you may like to avoid these rip offs again. Simply take your business to amscot money order service free mo take your money away from banks they are all learning these tricks from each other and you stand no chance of avoiding them once they hold your money.

The current HARP 2 is vastly oversubscribed and there is very little chance of getting on board without paying at least $5000. in closing costs. Do Not even consider a loan modification that will put you instantly into default foreclosure and make you a criminal.  

Simply walk away from the disease spreading the world and rent somewhere nice

i completely feel your pain.  i am a teacher and work very hard for my money.  i know how to balance my checking account.  the bank holds funds and has their own system for available balance.  what i deposit into my account isn't available to me and i get charged insane overdraft fees.  i don't even want to keep my money in the bank anymore.

One can certainly conclude Mr Levine from the name and his remarks  more than likely is an employee of one of these unscrupulous institutions! Mr Levine doesn't mention the fact these parasites took billions of taxpayer funds, not to make loans like they were suppose to, but rather buy up more assets for themselves to increase their "power"! These banks think they can do whatever they want because the TAXPAYERS will always BAIL THEM OUT!!! Time to reconsider your choice of elected officals until this system is totally eradicated!!!!

These banks DO play games and it is a well known issue. Attorneys don't file lawsuits after frivilous claims! These banks will manipulate your deposits and debits to leverage their profits----PERIOD!

It happened to me and I walked into my branch and closed my account removing a substantial sum of money! Who was the loser? Been with my current institutions for several years----NOT A SINGLE ISSUE! What does that tell you???

Just close your account and do business with your local small community banks! These MEGA banks are already in self destruction mode and will continue to self destruct! One word comes to mind-------------GREED!!!!!!!!

The small banks have the EXACT same FDIC coverage as the MEGA banks but generally the GREED is lacking and the service is superb! The MEGA banks could care less about you and I because they cater to WALL ST and CORPORATE AMERICA!

These MEGA banks will also try to blackball you with the "chexsystem" or one of those absurb agencies! Don't let it frighten you--many banks don't even use the system and those that do will almost guaranteed open you an account! BIGGEST JOKE SINCE THE CREDIT AGENCIES! There are also numerous banks advertising online such as "URBAN BANK" that will open you an account regardless!

Your best defense is LEAVE!!! Sooner or later these reptilian parasites will self destruct! I think current issues in congress speak loudly where these parasites are headed!

To the OP.... Robert is one of the few regulars on ROR who will actually give you excellent advice on handling a problem. He is 100% accurate in everything he posted. If you don't believe me, look at the article link posted prior to mine (I think it was from CNN). The very first sentence says it all - and I must paraphrase here - that 10% of the consumers are paying 90% of the overdraft fees collected!  The logical inference from that is that 90% of the population are doing it right. We may have the rare overdraft (we all make mistakes) but it is the 10% doing it wrong, over and over and over.... to the tune of 36.5 billion (I think).

So if you want to throw your money away to the bank, go ahead. If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got!

And to Karl.... if you want to harass the local banks with flyers about those stupid life insurance policies go ahead. You said it yourself - it's perfectly legal for companies to take out policies on their employees. It's not hurting anyone!  And the way you phrase it - as if the employer actually WANTS his employee dead so he can collect - well, that's just inflammatory and ridiculous.

  In what Bof A branch do you work?  The author of this complaint is trying to make the point that these charges are outrageous y friend, not that he is not at fault.

Once again the standard "The bank can see the future and intentionally holds up items because they KNOW I will spend more than I have available". 

Seriously, you over drafted your account and got hit with the overdraft fees because you spent more than you had available. It does not matter if you have a direct deposit coming in the next day or the next week.  Until it actually posts it is NOT available and you CAN NOT spend it.   You attempted to float funds, got caught, and the only person you have to be mad at is yourself.  The best way to avoid this is to keep a register, this way you can keep track of how much you have spent.

Now, of course you will have people come here state that you were 100% right and did nothing wrong.  They will tell you EXACTLY what you want to hear so you will ignore any other advise given to you.  Which is really unfortunate, because their advise while it will give you the "yep see I am right" mentality.  It will not save you from overdraft fees if you do not learn proper account management.  They may even go as far as telling you about class-action lawsuits that are being filed, or how the banks know they were wrong because they are changing their policies. 

The problem with that is that they won't tell you that it can take years to get any action on a class action suit, and a majority of them will never go anywhere.  If you get one that does, you will be lucky to get two overdraft fees refunded to you.  They also won't tell you that even with all of the new policies(such as opting out) it does not guarantee you that you will not overdraft.

BANKING CARTEL, in my opinion.
