I have been in contact with Alltel through email for over a month and today was told that adjustments were made to my account. I called customer service to confirm and, at last, my account now has a zero balance and zero written off. I tried to get them remove it from Experian and Equifax but was told that would take up to 90 days. The best I could do is get a promised letter confirming my account status. I was fortunate to find a good Alltel employee who was willing to research and correct the mistakes made. I wish the same for others who are having trouble. Keep records, be persistant and try to get the an individual to help are the best advise I can offer.
