I received a bill from a company called Alyon Technologies yesterday for $151.59. When I called them today to ask what the bill was for they informed me someone was viewing their pornagraphic website from my personal computer.
I told the customer service rep that this could not be possible because my husband is in the U.S. Navy and was out to sea at the time this occured and the only people home would have been myself and our 2 year old daughter.
Since I know I did not view this site and my daughter could not have possibly done it I would not be paying the bill and would send them my dispute in writing.
I was informed that if I did not pay it, it would get sent to a collection agency. I got online and did some research on the company and found enumerous complaints about them and how they (censored)people. One of the websites I looked at said that they get your connection information from a popup and hack into your computer installing a minidialer and then connect you to a 900 number without any sort of consent.
This seems criminal to me, I think its ludicris that someone doesn't have to provide a credit card number or anything as proof of age to view this material, and that this can occur without consent.
This website gave some great information as to whom I should contact to dispute this. I just got the bill yesterday but this website helped me to get the ball rolling. I hope you guys can be off more assistance. Thanks for this forum
