Our family recieved a bill for $151.59 from alyon Technologies. The bill claims that an adult web site was used for 31 minutes at an hourly rate of $4.99 per minute. They even gave a discount, what nice (censored). This website was never used by anybody in the family. At the time of day we are accused of using this adult site, nobody was on the computer or was even at home. What do we do and can somebody help us.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS! ..Alyon has to 'prove' you made the call

Alyon has to 'prove' you made the call from your home. They must have either a recording from someone in the household or prove it came from your computer (IP tracking) or made from your telephone. If this charge was added to your local telephone bill, call your local phone company immediately and tell them to remove the charge and send them back to Alyon. The phone company will probably advise you that the charges will be sent back, but Alyon will still prosecute. Call the Georgia Public Service Commission and file a formal compaint against Alyon. If Alyon billed you directly on an invoice from thier letterhead, then you need to contact the public service commission in your state. Georgia Public Service Commission and file a formal complaint against the company. It is your right to have the charges investigated. You do not have to pay until the charges have been completely verified. But you have to stay on top of it. You only have 90 days. On the other hand, it will quite embarrassing if someone in your household or someone visiting (like house sitters, etc.) did make the call. Make sure everyone in the house is coming clean. In most cases, if you hound the heck out of the company that charged you and state your case effectively, they usually will recourse the charges. I am an ex-employee for a major telecommunications company. You can bet on the advice I gave you. Good Luck.
