Complaint Review: Amazon.com - Internet

I have been a 12+ year buyer and seller on Amazon.  I loved Amazon.  When I started selling Lego on Amazon I found that the third-party Lego seller market is full of collusion.

After 12+ years of 100% positive feedback (862!) and perfect Seller metrics, I was suspended as a result of my competitors' targeting me.

I reported my competitors violations to Amazon and Amazon said I had to do TEST BUYS to prove my competitors were selling Lego product as NEW that wasn't in the original, factory-sealed Lego packaging.  Amazon requires Lego product be in its original, factory-sealed Lego packaging to be sold as NEW.

Sellers with NEW merchandise win the BUY BOX and get most of the sales.  When a seller is selling product as USED that doesn't meet the requirements of NEW gives unfair advantage and leaves customers dismayed when they get Lego in a Ziploc baggie with hair and s***k chunks.

My competitors used my seller name and likeness on product pages and images and then reported me for putting them up (I didn't.) To this day my competitors sell as NEW Lego product not in its original, factory-sealed packaging and several continue to use my seller name on product pages and images (violations).

My repeat customers thought they were buying from me and got junk instead from these impersonators who leave out packing slips and have return addresses different than their seller names.

I am suspended for violations I didn't do.  I have no avenue for appeal because my competitors' inside Amazon connections have blocked me from reaching anyone unbiased at Amazon.

Lego product is a top seller on Amazon, which opens avenues of collusion. If you know someone in leadership at Amazon, please forward this to them.  If you believe in following rules, respecting trademarks and operating in a transparent environment, I ask that you join me in boycotting Amazon by not buying or selling on Amazon.

For people considering selling on Amazon, just know it is nothing like eBay.  It is a VERY unfair, buyer-is-supreme marketplace that lends itself to frequent buyer extortion, fraud and theft.

To sell on Amazon, you must add in loss of at least 40%, and you must understand that you can be suspended at any time for no reason at all and have no recourse.  Amazon demands you sell only on their site, so when you get unjustly suspended you are screwed.

You have to understand that as a seller you have zero rights, unless you are part of the Lego mafia.  Then you have more rights than buyers and you can extort, hack, steal, lie and do anything you feel like doing.

Amazon knows about the collusion related to third-party Lego product sales.  Amazon chooses to encourage and allow these bully sellers by allowing unauthorized account access, rampant policy violations and removal of true feedback and product reviews that are negative.

Also, reading the Seller Boards is great for learning, but posting is the same as sticking your hand in a tank of hungry piranhas. Unless you want to get eaten alive, avoid posting or commenting.  Sellers on the boards have been known to target innocent newbies getting them suspended for unjust reasons.

You will be better suited to build your own website than be subjected to the anything-goes craziness on Amazon.

Amazon is great to figure out which products are best.  Although Amazon has just started blocking negative reviews, in the past negative reviews were allowed.  Now, orders filled by Amazon and large sellers get the perk of Amazon blocking negative feedback and reviews.

Find what you want to buy on Amazon and then buy on eBay or Google and buy direct.

Until people stop buying and selling on Amazon, nothing will be done about the collusion.

The customer service and seller performance departments have limited English and use cut and paste replies un-tailored to anything you need help with resolving.  

I am understating the problems on Amazon.  My advice, don't buy or sell on Amazon.  Doing so means more rogue sellers scamming customers.

And yes, my grapes are quite sour.  However, I will continue to reach out to Amazon until such time as the Lego issues are resolved.  My hope is that Lego Group will pursue trademark violations against the third party sellers re-branding and re-packaging Lego product without permission form Lego Group.
