Ameri-credit Financial ripoff give me liberty or give me my title San Antonio Texas
I purchased a 1995 ford contour from a dealer in SA and americredit financed it for 40 months. The car was purchased in 1997. There was some time that I was late with payments and late fees were paid. They sent me a letter in 2000 stating the car was paid for. I never recieved my title, I called for it. Come to find out, they stated that I still owe $600 in late fees and will not send me a title til its paid for.
My car is not running now and I'm trying to get rid of it and I still don't have a title to junk the car. They tried to settle with me to pay off half and they would sent it, but i told them to go to He**. My credit report states that I stiil owe $92 on principle since last activity on the account is in 2000. I finnaly told them in an e-amil to send me my title or repo the car, and they still have'nt responded. What can i do? Isn't there a statue of limitations or something? 5 yrs later without activity shouldn't i find out something, d**n!
