Ameri Source - IT Data Direct ripoff Once again another company is ripped off by these people. Montreal, Quebec Champlain New York
We were contacted by them last year (2003) and were told we had to pay due to this "contract" we agreed to. And, we fell for it. Ended up paying the $399 and since then they have not let up. Keep saying that we need to pay for the new directory, and this happens just about every other month! In the past 12 months they have billed us for over $2000 for their "directory" and we continue to refuse.
They continue to send us threatening collection letters, first from IT Data, then from Ameri-Source. And we continue to ignore them, and have even hung up on them when they call. Of course, they are not stopping. When I ask them where the contract is, they hem and haw and say it was verbally agreed to (they are very good at getting you to say yes without you realizing it) but have no contract. They just try to intimidate you into paying the money.
We are now taking this to our state attorney's office, as well as filing claims in Vermont and New York, as others have suggested. I am going to do all I can to make sure these people NEVER get a chance to do this again.
