America Vanline , America Van Line Scammed from first call to last cost me $$$ Owings Mills Maryland
I looked for a moving company, was given a list of six to choose from. America Van Line seemed the most reasonable, Their salesman Sheldon was a smooth talker, he told me would take care of me. I told him I had a limited income., I was told the estimate would be binding within ten percent. Since it was a small move I figured the quote he gave me would be fair. He told me all about other moving companies, how they would cheat me and bump up the price. Well my estimate started out around 587.00 and after additional calls quickly ballooned to over 1400.00. After they had my deposit I was told I could not cancel because 7 days had passed and my move was over a month away ! They would not even send me terms and conditions until after I made a deposit. He told me he would review it and send me an update. By the time my move date arrived, I figured it would get no worse, I was wrong, they charged me ten dollars a box to pack what I had left over, I was OK, until they brought out these little 1 foot by 1 foot by 1 foot boxes. Not even a respectable size. So in the my 587.00 Estimate turned into a 2600.00 BILL ! Even though the movers were nice, they kept charging and charging, I tried to get Sheldon, to find out what was going on, and they told me he does no work Sundays, I could call him on Monday. So bottom line, all of the things he told me OTHER movers would do to me . America Van Line did to me and more ! So much for is 'accurate' estimate.
I would recommend you avoid this company, With buddies like sheldon, who needs enemies !

It seems that this customer is not a real customer but a previous employee that was let go and trying to drag America Van Line reputation down for selfish and pitiful reasons. This is a bogus and deceitful report.
If it is a real customer (which I highly doubt) please provide more info. when the move took place(date) and from where to where so I can properly respond.

America Van Line provides quality service for over 1000 moves each year. We address every issue or complaint in a timely manner. Our reputation as a mover that provides an accurate estimate based on the information provided by the customer at the time the estimate is issued. As with any mover if the quantity of items moved increases, then the cost of the estimate will increase proportionally which we inform the customer ahead of time. There is not enough information to reference this incident, but we welcome the poster to contact our office to discuss this. We have spoken to the sales rep in question, and was unable to recall an incidence where and estimate was off this much from the original. Once we are certain about the job we will post a further rebuttal. America Van Line values our reputation as a mover.
