I began my 'venture'on June 7, 2005, when I responded to an add. They immediately requested an interview. Of course, that turned into 3 interviews.

I quit my temporary job and went to insurance school. It took me 2 weeks to pass my tests and get my lisence.

Then I got my training material. They wouldn't let you read the whole manual. Just one page at a time. It will confuse you to read the whole thing. Just memorize one sentance and one page at a time. You are not allowed to ride until you have memorized word for word, exactly, what is in their scripts and presentations. Even if you understand the product and can present it in your own words, you are not allowed to do that.

It is now July 27 and I am still struggling with the exact memorization of the words, hence I am not allowed to ride.

I am expected to go to meetings on Mondays and Friday that are all day. I am expected to make appointments for agents going out... part of training, or course.

Then last week at the Friday meeting I am informed we are taking a road trip. We were to be ready Sunday morning.... and were to be gone until late Wednesday. It was all paid for.

I was told to leave my cat alone for that entire time without someone to tend her.... just leave food and water.

I didn't go. Instead I have spent that time researching deeper into the company and I found this site and Mark Colbert's site also.

I will not be returning to the company. I am going to get my contract back and 'resign'.

The one time I was allowed to ride I learned that the HIV test they give is represented as a tobacco test. That is when my alarms really began in force.

I was never told in the initial interviews that my tattoos would be a problem. Then just last week I was praised at how well I had hidden the tatt around my neck and did I have long sleves to cover the one on my wrist?

There are many other employees who show their tatts and piercings.

Since I am so very new to insurance I'm sure there are other things unethical and misrepresentation going on.

Oh yea, I was told a month ago we have a Mandatory State Meeting July 29 (which I'm not going to make since I haven't made a dime). When I called the State IC offices they had no idea what that meeting was.

Turns out it is mandatory via JoMann & Associates who is AIL's State general agent's company.

I truely believe this company is misrepresenting their product and cheatig their agents by calling them independent contractors when the State Labor Board and the IRS consider their agents employees due hourly wages.
