Complaint Review: American Mail Publishing - Internet Arizona

Although I believe the Better Business Bureau is pretty much a worthless joke, I did go there and find out that AMP has a F rating and has had 42 complaints in the last 3 years against them. The company responded to about half of them.  The information provided does not say if a refund was provided.  All a company has to do is respond and the BBB will consider the matter closed.  So, a company could "respond" by saying tough luck, no refund for you, and the BBB will consider the matter closed. 

AMP is in Atlanta, GA and indeed are operating out of a mailbox (I googled their street address) in this situation, a rental box at a UPS store.  Make sure you tell the chargeback rep all the above  information.  If you want to see for yourself, just go to the BBB's site and type in American Mail Publishing.

Its simple. I've done many before.  Just contact customer service at your CC company.  Tell the rep you want to do a chargeback. You will probably get transferred to a department that specifically handles this.  They will pull up your account and verifiy the charge.  Be honest.  Explain you fell for an online envelope stuffing scam, never received anything and cannot communicate with them for a refund because they don't respond to emails and don't give out any other method of contact.  Tell them after paying and realizing you were ripped off by a scam, you did your research and that there are many, many warnings/postings on various sites from others who were also scammed.  They will fax or email you a form to fill out.  Fill it out and fax back.  ALso, mention their bogus, worthless bullsh*t money-back guarantee.

I did pay with credit card, how do I file for a charge back? I still have time, I've never had to do this before......

Oh boy. Unbelievable.  I can't understand how or why people really still fall for this con.  There were already 10 other reports on this website alone reporting this company as a fraud.  Had you done a yahoo or google search, you would have found warnings all over the internet.

First off, any company that asks you to send you money is a scam.  Its suppose to work the other way around.  They pay YOU.

Second, no company is going to pay someone $5.00 to "stuff" an envelope.  On their website, they claim if they hired people to do it at their office, they would have to invest in extra work space, time in supervising the additional employees, pay more taxes, health insurance, etc. What a joke. I PROMISE you, these people are operating out of a post office box!!!  Companies requiring heavy envelope stuffing have machines that stuff, stamp, address and seal the envelopes for them.  You could probably get one of these machines for a thousand dollars or so. These machines can process hundreds of envelopes in just a few minutes.  So the idea that a company would pay someone $5.00 per envelope is INSANE and OBVIOUSLY a SCAM!!!!!

Didn't you notice the contradiction on their website? They say you can get your family involved and neighbors too, and stuff as many envelopes as you want.  Following this theory, you could be a millionaire in a couple weeks.  Later on, they say its not a get rich quick program. LOL.  It may very well be, for them that is, if enough people send in their "start-up" money. On one site, someone said they paid the fee and received a booklet in the mail about starting a home business. That is all they received.  Others did receive some brochures to mail, but it was brochures that advertised the company and requested whoever received them, that they send money in to AMP and join the program.  So there is NO ACTUAL PRODUCT.  That is illegal, per the U.S. Postal System!  Should you receive any of these brochures, take the materials to your local postmaster so they can be investigated for mail fraud.  Contact the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division in your state and their state too, if you find out where they are.  If enough people file complaints, the AG's office will investigate. 

I checked their registration, they registered "privately" which means you cannot get any information about who they are or where they are.  They registered 2/11 for JUST ONE YEAR and then renewed right before their doman expired for just another year (Hey, AMP, if you are reading this, your domain expires in Feb.).  What legitimate company only registers their site for a year??? If they plan on being in business?  If they are so successful as they claim on their website.  They would register for several years.

If you paid by credit card and the window time to file a chargeback as not expired, do a chargeback immediately!

Future going: never fall the envelope stuffing con and never pay someone for a job.
