Complaint Review: American Moving and Storage - Ft. Lauderdale Florida

STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!! They are awful! They are Duntara AKA AMERICAN MOVING AND STORAGE they lie from the very beginning! They said the company is American Moving and storage so when I checked on the internet to see if there were any reviews. There wasn't anything that would concern me. I spoke to Anthony that told me he was going to be the "agent" in charge of my move. I paid the deposit, they picked up my furniture in Florida I then paid the pick up fee and would have to pay the rest when my furniture arrived. I told Anthony about my long driveway in Massachusetts and told him about the New England small towns.He told told me that they can handle all roads and it's not a problem and that it would be in Massachusetts the i a week. I called and Anthony during the week to find out when delivery was projected for he was no where to be found, I left messages and there was no return calls. I finally got through and spoke to Nadine that told me that they had until the 14th to deliver since it was picked up on October 1st. I said ok. I then call the 14th and she told me that it hasn't left Florida. Then she tells me "well it looks like delivery will be this weekend. She didn't call so I call again. I felt like I had to constantly call. Awful and I at that point demanded answers. Nadine told me that they had to change the Driver. I finally get a call and Nadine tells me this week for sure. She said she will call me on Friday November 1st and No call. She calls November 2nd to tell me the movers are delivering on Sunday the 3 and that I will be compensated for the late delivery and the driver will let me know. I told her I needed a price or else she was going to get a check not a cashiers check. Kevin The driver calls me and informs me he will not drive on the driveway because he has an 18 wheeler and he was done for the day! I told him he needed to figure out how he was going to get my furniture to my house and that because that is what they agreed to do! He said he will figure out where he's going to get a smaller truck to deliver. Next day Monday he informs me that it's going to cost me another $400 dollars for them to rent a truck and another $500 for an their overnight stay. I was warned by a local moving company to have a police officer at my place because movers from Florida and Brooklyn NY are notorious for shady deals and to check all furniture before I pay him. The driver shows up and is really nervous that the police officer is there and starts yelling at me. I asked him to off load the stuff onto my driveway and I will figure out how I'm can get it up my driveway and he kept saying "you need to pay me my money!" I told him that is not the agreed price with the office and he said I am going to take your furniture! He called me a liar and was yelling at me I told him I had the office on my cell phone and that is not the agreed price! The officer asked him to stop yelling and calling me a liar! My son asked him why was he yelling at me and told him he was being an idiot and then he charged after my son yelling at him and said “you don’t know who you are messing with you Mother F&%^^*(), I’m leaving and taking your furniture!.” I spoke to Cheryl and she said that she would call me back. I am still dealing with these scam artist! They haven't called me back and they are took my furniture. They are now holding my furniture hostage. I spoke to Cheryl that said she didn’t have to disclose where my furniture is and hung up on me.  This is awful and I hope no one else has to go through any thing like this!
