American Professional Institute API Tuition Scam School Decatur, Georgia
Most of the students at API are low income public assistant recipients with no diploma, GED, or clue as to what they want to do with their future let alone knowledge to go about receiving a higher education. They have never set foot on a college campus. API knows this, they know that EVERYONE that goes there has never received any grants or loans and they suck them in and take that $12,500 and give them NO EDUCATION, yet the students think they're getting something because the don't know any better. They get their money and then you are forced to repay a massive loan and have no way of doing so. Young black women and men who have their futures ahead of them and instead of getting a DEGREE, they get this flimsy piece of paper called a CERTIFICATE that most employers laugh at like "API who?" And then when the smart ones realize that they have to go to a REAL school, there is this gaping $12,500 hole in their pockets that they owe and which is preventing them from going to a legitimate school. No one has received jobs from API Decatur which promises them and tells them over and over again every single solitary day that they will in fact receive.THEY GIVE NO JOBS! And truth be told you are missing so much curriculum in your area of study that you wouldn't even be equipped well enough to sustain a position if you landed one miraculously. The teachers are NOT great. NOT, or else they would be titled Professors, not teachers (aka medical assistants and insurance billers that have never taught in a school prior to API let alone have state papers or college degrees appointing them as instructors) (Except for that of Dr. O, who was the only one there with a conscience which is why he is no longer there.) They fraternize with the students way to much about children and relationships and food stamps and goings on. Christy Thompson for example is the Dean of Students at API Decatur, prior to that she was a Medical Assistant Instructor. She has no management experience whatsoever. Tell me where the credentials come in that support her seat as said Dean of Students as I'd LOVE to know. Yet and still she moved on up and is creating havoc because NO ONE IS OVERSEEING WHAT GOES ON OVER THERE. How are these people being signed up to be medical assistants and billers and they can't even add let alone read and furthermore, comprehend even the most basic things? They send the students on internships and the students get sent back because they haven't been taught anything. Facilities like EMORY hospital has even banned API from sending students to them. API does no checks to verify that their students have diplomas or GEDs and its REQUIRED by LAW! Why dont they? Because the check is all that matters to API. It matters so much that they dont even have the checks addressed to the students homes, they get addressed to API and API (Pythagoras Aaron) makes the students go to the bank IMMEDIATELY and cash the $500 refund that they PROMISE you in the beginning, out and bring him the money as I did. They dont do scholarships or grants due to their illigitimacy. The reason I picked API is because I didn't want to wait 6 months for Georgia Perimeter. Coming from a person who knows what their education is worth, this is the biggest mistake I could've ever made. I am starting a class action suit.
